Thought a thread in Breaking News for the weekend covering Hurricane Jeanne would be a good thing. Post your link, pics, updates and freeper check-in's here
Here is a interesting link to a buoy near the Bahamas. Looks to be right in the path. Should be interesting to watch for the next few hours.
Pretty cool graph of the data too.
Our daughter, son-in-law and two grandkids live in Vero Beach. We JUST got back (to Pekin, Indiana) from helping them clean up in the aftermath of Frances; now they're re-boarded and back in Sarasota.
During Frances, someone posted a link to television stations in Florida that stream; we found the one in Orlando really useful. Does anyone have that/those links?

I'm in the same boat as you are, praying for a miracle.
I stay on the 'cane threads in an effort to return even a small bit of the comfort I received from FReepers last year when I was in the path of Isabel. Those threads helped me immensely (intil my phones went out!)
Beats the dog out of me. I typed Ivan into their search box and presto, I was there.
Wow, that graph tells it all!
Those guys I mentioned in an earlier post who build the ICF homes - they went to Pensacola earlier this week to help. They said that there are still areas closed to home owners, and it looked (in the areas they were working) like a bomb went off and (for example) there were places where homes were lifted completely off their foundations and dropped in the woods.
Pensacola got the NE side of the storm, like I did for Frances and Charley, and it seems will for Jeanne, too.
The anemometer at Settlement Point is on shore, in the mouth of the harbor at West End. In ordinary conditions it doesn't give an accurate view of the breeze at sea, due to the trees, etc, causing windspeed to lessen. However, I imagine it'll give a good picture today, if it stays up.
Frances didn't blow it down, but we'll see if it can survive Jeanne.
That infrared picture seems to be giving a wobble to the north based on Jeanne's 11:00 position. Can't say whether or not I'm just seeing what I wish for, though.
Oh, just let it blow you and your property to Nebraska. The most you get there is a tornado and they are at least quick and don't dump feet of water on your ruined stuff!
That is one mean, nasty looking !itch...............
Did you see what it said for the "pressure tendency" on your link to the Settlement Point weather station?
Falling rapidly!
Yes we did and hopefully we will just get a little of this one. We used to live in Indian River county just a little north of Vero Beach. We are better off where we are now than to be up there..
Amazing photos. I tried resizing and inserting one here but the byte size is the same and its too small to see the damage.
Hope so for us. It is getting cloudy and breezy here in Port Charlotte. It was supposed to be sunny all day.
Here in Port St. Lucie.
Having a wonderful time, wish you were here!
Rain is starting, things are still calm.
:-)
It looks like they will have pics from Frances and Charley soon, too.
You talking about Jeanne or Turaaaaazaaaaa!!!!
