The main steam media is down playing the success of the Presidents visit yesterday. How about telling us what really happened.

A link to this page is going to be the lead article on today’s update on Christian-news-in-maine.com.

Thanks in advance,
Jake

Lesson to any who are going to attend either GW's or Cheney rallies..take only a few bucks, id and car keys. Leave the rest in the car. You and family did great.

Boy!!!! I thought the Portland Press Herald was as leftist as they come, but the Bangor News must be worse!!! Front page of the Portland Press states "Bush was warmly received by a crowd of about 9000 cheering supporters"- triple the number Bangor News is reporting!!!! I went and just loved it.

My grandson was with me. His dad,my soninlaw is a timberframer in Washington Co and erected one a couple years ago on Moosehead lake.He also has his own sawmill(I read your page).

We were joking with another couple there about how the Bangor Daily would probably report 500 supporters and thousands of protesters. I guess they did the best they could without becoming even more of a laughing stock than they already are.

There were definitely more people there than the Bangor Daily reported.

The strange part is that the newspaper actually endorsed W in 2000, and then spent the next 4 years bashing him as much as they could.

Very cool! We could've probably spit on each other... if we'd wanted to... which I wouldn't have, but whatever... ;-)

I have a theory. One way to see how much support a campaign has is to look at the size and enthusiasm of the crowds. If Kerry came to Bangor, how many would he draw?

I can't believe they threw away your Mentos!

I brought a giant Halloween sized bag of Twix Bars (passed them out to whoever wanted them, I swear I didn't eat the whole thing myself.) I thought for sure I wouldn't be able to bring them in, but figured I'd take a shot anyway. I told them my goal was "diabetic coma," and they let me through with them.

Me neither! They said food wasn't allowed. I didn't bring food. How on earth could one make a meal out of Mentos? Anyway, they overlooked my TicTacs & Trident gum. Apparently, I couldn't make a meal out of those... sheesh.

My daughter emily (4)and I were on the stage behind the freeport flag ladies. I got to shake his hand but Emily was terrified and only gave him a small smile. We had a great time but it was a really long day. At 2:00 they told us we could no longer leave the stage. I think everyone left the stage after the Prez and went straight to the port-a-potties.

The thing that impressed me the most, was the large number of young people. The college republicans were great. Well dressed, well mannered, efficient, and enthusiastic. I feel better about the future. I have three children of my own. The two oldest will (if they still want to eat at home) vote for the President. The youngest came home from high school the other day and informed me that only 4 people in her history class supported Kerry, one was the teacher.

When the President mentioned the ownership society and that he wanted young people to have control over at least part of their social society, there was a huge response from the young people around me. They get it.

God Bless the President and on to four more years.

A couple more family commonalities: My daughter(Lydia) has been married to Tim the timber framer for 15 years this month. They home school 3(Nick was with me on the truck bed) and also use wind and solarpower. I am sure Tim would love to talk with your husband sometime.

Wow... definitely a lot in common. We're planning to build a post & beam house next spring. Where is your daughter & son-in-law located? I know my husband would enjoy talking to your son-in-law. How old are their kids? Mine are almost 12, 8, 6 & 2. Nick isn't blonde, is he? There was a guy standing next to me with an adolescent boy, but it probably wasn't you since you probably would've recognized me from my pictures. I had a family standing to my left with (I think) 2 boys... one was 13 because my son sat next to him & they talked a bit. The father was pretty tall--I heard his wife say he is 6'5". Anyway, there were so many people there. I was quite overwhelmed!

Folks, it's crunch time. There are only a few days left before the 30 day limit for registration. Please call the campaign and volunteer to register voters from GOP districts in battleground states. And then volunteer for GOTV efforts just before and during the elections. The alternative is condemning your family and neighbors to life under the opposition. In Maine, maybe it's about volunteering in a battleground district. :)

Tactics trump policy every single time. If Bush is preferable, then he's preferable and the die is cast. We can persuade the majority of Americans of that, but if they don't vote it won't matter.
