Burkett is suing because he was promised cash for the documents and now the DNC and/or CBS isn't paying up.

Now Burkett is saying Lockhart was the one that was eager.

I think the Kerry camp just wanted Burkett to give them to Mapes and allow themselves to cover their tracks by not talking to him again after they gave him the documents.
