[history]
Cool.
Mod update.
Ordinary Americans have dragged slowly but surely other big institutions to the truth. The big institutions were the last to arrive at the truth and some of them to this moment are still not there. Now I realize that within this new alternative media there exists some jealosy,. I sense that some people dont want to give the blogosphere the full credit. They have to parcel it out because every body wants a piece of the action; this is quite normal, this is human nature. The fact of the matter is that it was the blogosphere and it was a couple of sites: Powerline and FreeRepublic. And FreeRepublic has been one of the most impugned blogs / websites in the history of websites by the very institution that has been brought down.
When Dan Rather talked about partisan political operatives, he means those who lurk at FreeRepublic. Who is FreeRepublic, its ordinary Americans liberals look down at ordinary Americans, dont know have enough decision making power, [?] do the right thing, not smart enough
You dont know how much it grates on them at CBS that its something like FreeRepublic or one of their chat rooms or one of the FReepers there or the Powerline
you have no idea that it irritates them that that kind of person brought them down. An average, ordinary untrained journalist that
you just do not know how this irritates them inside. More than the fact that they got caught, its who caught them that irritates them.
And, so just as I started out
I was a fad, and I was a liar, and I made it up and I was bad for America and I posed threats to democracy, as the cover of Time said. So now the same things are being said about the bloggers. Fox news has had its turn and we all continue rotating in the criticism carousel of the left.

I was listening with a wide smile when Rushbo said this today. Never let it be said the great man doesn't share the spotlight and give credit where credit is due.
Thanks Rush! Long live el Rushbo! RUSH to Justice!

the first I ever heard of Free Republic was on Rush's radio show. Maybe 1997-98? He was talking to a woman producer from Hollywood who was in at the start. That was in 98 and he was talking to clinton's a liar, better known as CAL. She is not here now, but is the press agent for Alan Keyes. Some of us miss her.
OTOH, it's nice to get validation from Rush. He started the conservative revolt. We are just a continuation of that revolution. We are FReepers, not to be insulted by any muslim sounding appellation.

Kudos to Rush and the Freepers!. This is more than just preaching to the choir, it is an invaluable resource to those of us who have shed their blinders, spit out the liberal Kool-aid and left the dark side. I've been a Democrat all my life, had the "selected not elected" angst after the 2000 election. It all changed in the aftermath of 9/11. I saw President Bush's response to the Islamofascists and the Democrats response to our war on terrorism and had no choice but side with the President and reexamine my support of the Democrats, hence, my screen name.
As a newbie, I must say that the people here have been nothing less than friendly and welcoming. Thank you all,
and thanks to all of you who are active military, veterans and first responders for you service to our country.
Check out my tag-line, it's set to the tune "Jeepers, Creepers"

Hey, FReeps! This has been my tagline (mostly) since Brit first had the story on Special Report.
Mr. Tart even knows what the heck I'm talking about when I lecture the TV with this line, lol!
(He has also joined me in declaring "He's dead, Jim." where applicable. Thanks, Meek!)

Congrats. I would say many, perahps a majority, of Conservatives used to be liberals. Liberalism is the natural state of being, conservatism you have to seek out and find by yourself. IMO, liberals often make the best conservatives because they have a clear understanding of what the other side is and the temptations of their policies. Good luck and welcome!

This forum is attracting attention NATIONALLY and, therefore, I'd like to make a suggestion to all Freepers.
I know that many people on Free Republic,, in their haste to post, sometimes do not take advantage of the spell function before posting, I know because I used to skip it, myself.
I only bring this up because anyone who is checking out this site and seeing all the spelling errors, are likely to get the wrong impression of the intellect of the posters and disregard the content of messages.
We owe it to ourselves to present ourselves as astute, ittelligent and educated as possible.
Please don't take this too critically, because sometimes the first impression, is a lasting one, and I have only the best interest of Free Republic at heart.
Freep on!

Not a hugh thing, but we're getting series attention now, and we don't want to be misunderestimated. So here's a very short primer on some of the most common mistakes I've found here:
Kerry is a LOSER...not a LOOSER..but TaRAYza is a LOOSE cannon
There's no Their They're
Hypocrite and Hypocrisy vs Hipocryte, Hypocrit and Hypocracy
strategery vs strategy....both ok

Last night, O'Reilly said Rather has (maybe he should have said "had") 3 million viewers.
Rush claims to have 20 million listeners per week.
