We all indulge in wishful, righteous thinkin' here on FR. I'm one of them. It is easy to join the "Nuke Mecca" chorus.

The fact of the matter is, we on FR said "Nuke Mecca" or "Nuke Fallujah" when the very first of this nonsense started about a year ago.

Fact is, unfortunately, this is only one of the first few of what will be hundreds and hundreds of beheadings of Westerners in Iraq and the middle east, before the US government can do anything about it, handcuffed by political correctness that agitates against leveling a town or village in response. Yes, there will be many more beheadings by Islamofascists, and many more threads of outrage on FR for the next months and years to come. Sad.

Well, two well placed bombs in 1945 sure brought the Japanese to their senses real fast.

Are you advocating the slaughter of 250,000 people?

Any other suggestions, last time I checked nothing seems to be working

No, thanks. We weren't allowed to evacuate our citizens from the World Trade Center before it was flattened by terrorists.

Your response is the most sane I've seen on this thread. Our nation is not great because we can get more medieval than cavemen. We are great because we recognize the value of life and make the decision to take life carefully, generally preferring to avoid collateral casualties. This nonsense about taking out all Muslims, or Arab cities, is the voice of rage. For those of you filled with it, go ahead and rage. But if it was your nation to lead and you had to contemplate taking thousands of lives unnecessarily, you wouldn't be foolish to do what you advocate here. You'd find a better way.

There's no other way to win this than to be more brutal than the enemy. Sorry, your kerry-esque 'lets play nice' BS isn't going to cut it.

I am one of the people who feels bad about hiroshima. IT was sad that the japanese would not take "back off" for an answer. It truly was. they were idiots to tangle with the US.

"I say we take out a major Arab city every time this happens"

You can not do that, too many innocents in Iraq, but you can take out Fallujah, there are NO innocents there. Many Freepers were besides themselves wqhen the Marines were ordered to retreat Fallujah and predicted exactly what we now see. A city that stands defiant to the USA and a haven for terrorists. Of course the kool-aid drinkers will never admit how wrong they were in supporting appeasing terrorists by withdrawing the Marines and letting Fallujah "police" Fallujah.

USA was taking bad press in the assault on Fallujah now the terrorists are taking bad press so I guess the PC crowd is happy. I'm not, I don't like seeing Americans (or Italians, or Britons, or Poles, or Russians) beheaded at no cost what so ever to the terrorists.

I would evacuate the citizens first then level Falujah.

What in the WORLD would that achieve? Cripes. Are buildings our enemy? Are roads and schools and utility plants beheading infidels?

A tiny percentage of the "residents" of Fallujah, of Iraq, of the Muslim world are Islamist butchers. It's a brand new enemy dynamic.

It boggles my mind that Freepers can't understand the unique nature of our enemy, the subtelty of our war, and our progressively successful strategy. Irks me mightily.

Thanks, but no thanks. I've watched all of the other videos, and that's enough. I'll have my husband watch it if he wants to. Everytime that I hear of another sawed off head innocent victim, my heart races, I shake, and I feel my blood pressure go up. That's the truth.
