Your response is the most sane I've seen on this thread. Our nation is not great because we can get more medieval than cavemen. We are great because we recognize the value of life and make the decision to take life carefully, generally preferring to avoid collateral casualties. This nonsense about taking out all Muslims, or Arab cities, is the voice of rage. For those of you filled with it, go ahead and rage. But if it was your nation to lead and you had to contemplate taking thousands of lives unnecessarily, you wouldn't be foolish to do what you advocate here. You'd find a better way.

correction: you wouldn't be foolish enough to do what you advocate here. You'd find a better way.

"No, thanks. We weren't allowed to evacuate our citizens from the World Trade Center before it was flattened by terrorists."

I was just about to post the exact same thing, you read my mind.

You'd find a better way.

Nagasaki. Hiroshima. Dresden.

There's no other way to win this than to be more brutal than the enemy. Sorry, your kerry-esque 'lets play nice' BS isn't going to cut it.

The better way being "leave it to those in charge," huh? On with the PC campaign I see. You say my response of outrage and calling for harsh retribution for these murderers and their ilk "dancing?" I'd be interested in hearing what good will come with preserving Fallujah. WE HAVE TO TAKE THIS TO THE NEXT LEVEL. IT WON'T STOP ANY OTHER WAY!!!

No war is over until enough people have died. We can either get them all out up front and minimize losses on our side, or we can do this the slow way and give up a lot of our kids lives along the way. Which is more humane?

I suppose Truman was a real scum for dropping the bombs on Japan and saving all those American lives at the expense of the Japanese.
