Dear CBS

RE: Dan Rather's statement of 9/20/04.

Do you and Mr. Rather think we viewers are stupid???

I am removing CBS from every tv in my home this afternoon and will be notifying my local affiliate of my actions today. H__l will freeze over before I view anything resembling a "news" broadcast on the CBS network again.

I predict your obsessive efforts to support your anti-Bush bias will ultimately prove to be your undoing.

The only thing that CBS is good for is football.

How are you doing that - scrambling the signal, or physically removing the number of their channel from your remote?

It a simple programming feature on all digital tuners built for the past 10-15 years. There is also parental control features which can do the same thing. No c BS

Here's my prediction of tonites CBS Evening News. It will will go something like:

"We broke the story this morning about the Texas Guard memo's concerning Mr. Bush and their questionable authenticity.
CBS was proud to be able to bring you this news breaking bulletin this morning, but serious questions still remain about Mr. Bush's national guard service.

When will he answer these damning charges, and the serious questions they bring up about his fitness to be President?

So far, there has been only silence from the white house ......"

Here's what I sent to our local affiliate this afternoon:

I just finished reading Dan Rather’s statement concerning the memos presented by CBS 60 Minutes last week.

Although I had my doubts about the authenticity of the memo’s in question, I thought surely CBS would come clean and reveal their ‘unimpeachable’ source.

To quote from his statement:

“That, combined with some of the questions that have been raised in public and in the press, leads me to a point where—if I knew then what I know now—I would not have gone ahead with the story as it was aired, and I certainly would not have used the documents in question.”

All he says there is that he would not have used the memos if he knew he was going to get caught. Mr. Rather is not a Journalist, he is a fraud and an embarrassment. Dan got hold of something that he thought would damage the President, and ran with it, straight into a wall.

Where is the apology to President Bush for CBS News attempting to de-rail his re-election effort with forgeries?

Where is the apology to retired General Staudt for using his name in a smear attempt on Preident Bush?

It seems to me that any attempt to influence a national election through fraudulent means is a very serious thing, and I am ashamed and disgusted with CBS, 60 Minutes, Mary Mapes, and Dan Rather in particular.

I can only hope that the WREG News team has higher journalistic standards than their CBS parent.

I just sent this...

Subject: Ratherbias Dan

This snake trying to slither away unharmed is unacceptable. If he can't be a MAN and admit his hatred for Bush outweighed his judgement, Rather and cBS are doomed! I will wait to read of his dimissal from your company on a reliable source of news(the Internet). Until then, cBS will no longer be seen in this house!

cBS has been such a disappointment and a disgrace!

"H__l will freeze over before I view anything resembling a "news" broadcast on the CBS network again."

What took you so long to come to this conclusion?

I haven't watch any MSM since the late 1970's when they were so fearful of Ronald Reagan.

Now if we could get the women to quit watching the "Today Show" we would have it made.

I too thought CBS would come clean too. But while I was out at lunch, I was listening to Rush Limbaugh rant and rave about this too and he has a point. President Bush was maligned. Where was the apology? The American people were hurt by a corporate attempt to take down a president. Where was the apology? If a Republican had remotely been involved in such shennanigans, there would have been congressional hearings by now. Where is the outrage? Why can't people see the media bias for what it is--just more fun and games by the left. Until someone knocks them down and makes it hurt, they'll never learn.

If Burkitt is the patsy or fall-guy, who is the 'unimpeachable source'?

I e-mailed my local affiliate. I also e-mailed the Dr. Phil show, which is shown on my local affiliate. Syndicated shows like his need to know that they are also part of my boycott.

Clintoon was the last elected official to be given a pass by the national media

That was the only reason he was elected

CBS killed any remaing doubt that the media was un-biased, in fact they are really Rather biased
