Yep. This is not a states rights issue due to that clause. Anyone who says differently simply doesn't want to take a stand.

But the Full Faith and Credit clause explicitly gives Congress the authority to limit its scope.

The problem is that while voters in many states will reject "gay marriage" by large margins, these same people will still support advocates of "gay marriage" for various high offices. The people have not figured out their own disconnect.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but most politicians who "supported" gay marriage gave it lip service but little else. People might not like the politician's "support" for gay marriage, but think it harmless since nothing would ever come of it.

It will be very interesting to see how 'gay marriage' issues play out in future elections, since it's becoming clear that some politicians have the intention and means to give it statutory recognition.

Thanks for the info. on the demographics that delivered the vote "for" the measure.

As for you notation on the socially-conservative black vote, I do need to put a
link up for the event that Ken Hutcherson (sp?), a preacher in Seattle
(and former player for the Seahawks) is promoting for this October in Washington, D.C.

Hutcherson has been making appearances on radio shows for Focus on The Family
(family.org) and other places on the conservative/religious frequencies
on the radio dial.

At this moment, I am proud to be from Louisiana.

And if we need a re-vote to show how Louisiana feels about gay marriages, lets go for it. It won't change a thing!

"Ah! Another 50/50 wedge issue that will be a disaster for the Republicans."

Those Republicans are so divided. The moderates were silenced again by the extreme right evangelical Christians. / sarcasm off
