I was just wondering what everyone's favorite talk radio show is. My favorite is Glenn Beck. Your thoughts?
Good luck here .
I have to give first props to my 'Uncle' Irv Homer in Philly. Irv is a Libertarian who had a pretty highly rated local show. He introduced me to Libertarianism and talk radio. I don't know if he was too old to go national when all these shows started into syndication, but Irv Homer was da bomb. Savage reminds me of him sometimes.
I am definitely a Rush fan, and depending upon my mood and the topic, will listen to Hannity or Medved, who are on at the same time here in Seattle. Medved certainly is smarter, but sometimes I just need to lighten up. On the other hand, Hannity can just be an idiot sometimes.
I like Hedgecock when he subs for Rush, and listened to Liddy when I lived in the midwest. Savage is either right on the money, insanity and all, or completely off the wall and unlistenable.
I don't think Mike Reagan is on in the Seattle area any longer. He was ok, but he was late night and by time he came on, I had heard all the topics (or read about them on FR) several times already, or was ready to sleep, so I never got into him much.
As a female, I hate to say it, but I just can't listen to Laura Ingraham very long. It's kinda like listening to female rock singers; I don't wanna. Plus, her show does seem a little disjointed compared to the others.
I've caught Boortz a few times, seems ok. I'd like to hear this Glenn Beck sometime, everyone seems to think he's pretty good.
I have recently starting listening to her, and she does a great, hip show.
What is the consensus on the turncoat Ed Shultz? Have any of you caught that show? He is trying so hard to be the Left's Limbaugh.
His "I'm a hunter, I like football and I eat red meat, and I vote for commie pinko pantywaists" schtick is tedious.
I love Rush, Laura, Savage, Beck, and only sometimes....O'Reilly and Lars. Hannity is nice but he sticks to the same script and seems boring at times.
Think about it.
Tony Snow - Author of the Chicken Kiev speech - Bush I's denunciation of the "suicidal nationalism" of those uppity Ukranians who wanted to be free of Soviet tyranny. More disgraceful than anything ever uttered by Jimmy Carter or Jerry Ford during the Cold War.
Tony Snow - Cheerleader for Clinton's stormtroopers sticking a machine gun in the face of 6 year old Elian.
Tony Snow - Pretty boy GOP hack. He thinks he's so cute.
Tony Snow - Evil.
I love Bobbie Dooley!
THE RUSH-MEISTER
Hugh Hewitt for political energy and engagement.
Hannity for Ruth's Chris commercials.
G. Gordon Liddy for weapons training ("aim for the head").
Bill O'Reilly for ....er, never mind.<p.
You gotta have some really big brass balls to say the things he says on air, take on the Irish mafia (Whitey Bulger), the FBI corruption (Whitey Bulger AGAIN), and the entire RAT machine here in this liberal Hellhole of Boston/Taxachusetts, and still survive.
I was wondering when someone would mention Michael Graham. I love his intensity.
My favorite host is Hugh Hewitt, whose show is intelligent and challenging (how many other talk shows have monthly Shakespeare analysis?); Hewitt always keeps his eye on the ball; he understands that the key to all other issues is control of the political arena; and best of all he loves intelligent, opinionated guests, so he treats his audience to Mark Steyn, James Lileks, Barnes and Kondracke, Frank Gaffney, Claudia Rosett, etc. As someone mentioned earlier in this thread, this is the show to listen to when there is breaking news.
Laura Ingraham has the funniest radio show I have ever heard, and I always try to catch it.
For all his flaws, Rush's is always the one opinion I want to hear when there is a big national issue.
The greatest living human being since Jesus Christ -- Rush Limbaugh. He is our holy prophet of the truth. There is no substitute.
because I want to....
Freedom is nice . You being pissed off on a simple blog site is your right .
I read Rush is dating someone from CNN, in either Newsweek or Entertainment Weekly.
G. Gordon Liddy. I don't care much for the rest of them, to be perfectly candid.
Laura Ingraham is the best-right along with Rush
Hugh Hewitt
Rush Limbaugh.
Top three, in no particular order:
Rush, Medved, Savage.
Savage rocks.
