ABC News has an exclusive interview with Col. Stoudt, the retired colonel who allegedly pressured Killian to cover for Lt. Bush during his Air National Guard stint according to forged documents aired by CBS News.
Stoudt says the docs are fake, he never pressured Killian about Bush and he did nothing to help Bush get into the Air National Guard in fact he was happy to have as many pilots as he could.
Does Rush know?
Thanks for the ping.
There are times in all our lives where we can't just sit idly by and watch good men take an unfair beating. Staudt knows the importance of this. I like his timing. Good for Staudt and good for the country.
The guy lives in square-jawed, German, no-nonsense New Braunfels. They work hard, and when they're not working, they kick back and drink beer (lots of beer) under any of many beautiful trees in this city with 2 rivers running through it. They do all they can to stay out of Austin, just a commuter's drive away. If they MUST go to the "big city", they go to San Antonio.
Nobody ever gave me any forged documents, but they did give me this cute little dog named Checkers.
Today Rush played two clips from yesterday, one of Terry McAuliffe and one of somebody else (ack--can't remember--Peter Fenn?? not sure) using the term "sugarcoat" yesterday speaking about the Bush Guard service.
Just coincidentally, I'm sure. /s
The timing is just perfect because the Fox shows tonight will have plenty of time to discuss it and expound on it during the weekend. Nice!
I'm gonna go out and buy new pajamas......can I get anything for anyone?
I think Kerry used it in his speech to the NG in LV.
Right. I am going to enjoy these shows tonight.
Ping (gotta work sheesh)
It's truly amazing how shoddy , or more likely fraudulent, the CBS reporting was on this story. They present fake memos along with the heresay of staunch Bush-haters, and ignore EVERYTHING else - document experts, family of the deceased Killian, Guard officers in the know, real records.
Texas Speaker Reportedly Helped Bush Get Into Guard
September 21, 1999
excerpt:
Bush has denied joining the Guard to avoid the draft. He said he "wanted to be a pilot," met all the requirements when he walked into Staudt's office at Ellington Field, and was accepted. He has pointed repeatedly to Staudt's denials that any influence was exerted on Bush's behalf.
Staudt said in an interview that he knew Adger, but that Adger never mentioned Bush to him. Bush has said that he met Staudt in late 1967, during Christmas vacation of his senior year at Yale, called him later, and by Bush's account, "found out what it took to apply."
Asked recently how it was that Bush came to call Staudt, Bush's communications director, Karen Hughes, has said he heard "from friends while he was home over the Christmas break that the Guard was looking for pilots and that Colonel Staudt was the person to contact."

Gusher indeed!
Dude, I now live in Seguin 10 minutes from N.B. before I moved over here I lived in New Braunfels on the Comal and as a lifetime resident of this part of Texas I know the Germans in that town.Your not telling me anything I do not know firsthand.
