Since we have had numerous FREEPERS in the area effected by Hurrican Ivan, I thought it would be good to start a thread for FREEPERS to check in.
Please place any damage reports, requests for assistance, etc here.
Sorry, I don't,but my family in Vicksburg, about 35 miles NW of Jackson, said that they didn't have any unusual weather.
Amdro is the stuff!
Tornadoes in the area...Moving north towards Wash. D.C. area. Clouds moving fast and mean. 4:40pm EST
Just got off the phone with our neighbors in P-cola. Thank God all are fine! She said they didn't get hardly any damage, although our neighbor across the street lost her roof. Said with power out it's hotter than h*ll, and fire ants trying to get in the houses. Since they are limited to certain areas of where they can go, not much more really to report, we are getting more than they are. NAS, still not much being reported (security reasons maybe?), but she did say she heard it would be closed for at least a good 2 weeks. Thank you to all that helped. This was a pretty trying time for me, and I wasn't there! God bless all that are.
We have a condo at Villas By the Bay on Canal Road in Orange Beachthat my wife's mother lives in. She evacuated with us. It is right down from Docks Seafood Shack. Any news on it?
I am in Washington DC area. Sorry. I don't know that area.
Orange Beach took extensive damage, but don't have any specific location reports, just that almost every building has damage of some type. Check Fox news and a couple of other news sites ..they have a picture opf one condo that collapsed in orange Beach - can't remember the name of it.
We've gone to Okaloosa Island for the last three summers. We stay in the same Gulf Side condo every year and are just hoping that the year-round residents of the building are okay.
Things in south Louisiana are in great shape. We had a wee bit of rain and some really wonderful breezes but no damage from Ivan. We had loads of evacuees and that created major traffic congestion for days as people headed north and west and again now that they're all heading back home. Prayeers for all those who were not so fortunate.
"Watch NBC 15 news online." I click on that. It opens a viewer and to the right side on the viewer, there is a list of videos to watch.
Nautaulus (sp) took a 75 mile tour. :) Is that the same one you are speaking of? They know where it is and are working to secure it.
I thought about posting about these oil rigs last night, but didn't know if I should. Thanks for the info. :)
I know of 5 move adrift, think it may be Transcor? Oceanearing? Anyway, one company has 5 drifting. :)
I don't have to be a fly on the wall to know what those conversations are like. :)
I know where those are.
I don't know about them specifically, but that entire area took a big hit. Check out that video link I posted above. You just might catch a glimpse of them because it shows Waterville and along the Intercoastal Canal. Has some Orange Beach areas, FloraBama area. You might can see the Villas, good luck to you.
I'm out in Middleburg and just got creamed with violent thunderstorms. Tornado was spotted just east of The Plains.
Tons of rain also.
HEY! I have some water damage, here, tiles off the roof, trees down. My yard looks like a storm hit it. :)
ping for future viewing.
ooooh, I didn't hear about that but soooo glad its nothing major. :)
No, I hadn't said because it's so insignificant, compared to...
Guess you'll be doing your part for the economy at the landscape and plant nursuries this fall and next spring :)
LOL. You know what did hold up? The bamboo. It looks great.:)
I read about the Transocean Nautilus. They found it 70 miles from where it was supposed to be.
Diamond Offshore also had one that was found 12 miles from where it was before the storm.
Ensco had damage to a couple and one was afloat drifting.
Also, according to Noble Energy, three production platforms with no rigs on them are missing.
Has anyone read about any others?
