You know, I've been a member of FR since before the 2000 election. I have not always agreed with the posts of the male-dominated membership in FR, but I have appreciated the positions of each and every one of you. But it has become very clear to me during this 2004 campaign why many women cannot embrace the conservative and/or Republican agenda. I have been since Nixon, and will remain one despite the predominance of the sexist condescension of a large group of Republican men. So let's get down to the bare bones of the situation, okay? And I really couldn't care less about the flames and insults that the lower domination of the FR membership will inflict on me for this little tirade of mine. There are so, so many women just like me who fervently believe in the ideals of the Republican and George W. Bush. We may recognize the lack of a female perspective in some issues, but we grasp the overall concept and recognize it as our own core values. We have basically learned to pick our battles. We share the views of conservative men in regards to our need for a superior military defense, a belief in the need for personal accountability and responsibility, a eff-you attitude towards our former French and Canadian and other similar so-called "allies," a need to defy the wimpy attitudes of those utopian countries who are in total denial about the condition of the world today and the necessarily severe actions necessary to ensure the survival of a righteous and moral world. We're out here, guys, and we feel just as strongly about these values as you do even if we don't feel the need to express them with your chest-beating and neverending pissing contests.
So in the midst of your extemely intelligent, compassionat idealogy, the less evolved of you start spouting your sexist and primate idealogy that becomes such a total turn-off to so many women who believe in your core values. Why do most women vote liberal? Because so many men are so busy being macho that they refus to embrace a woman's perspective on issues. You won't deter me or a very, very large group of women just like me. We are a very large and growing block of voters, and to grow that base, you need to recognize our different perspectives on the same core values. Stop pushing us away, and embrace our contributions. We are not so different, only the way God intends us to be. There's a reasons for differences, and they are for the greater good.
So hit me with your best shot. I will probably never post here again. And know this: I believe in George W. Bush, and will always be a conservative woman, although I'll probably be searching for another venue to share my beliefs.
Hot damn! When you leave, there'll be less competition for us wimmin who appreciate manly men. Thanks, sister, and don't let the door hit you in the...
Here's a "woman's perspective" on your post (and I am definitely a woman!!)
I have read and re-read your post half a dozen times. I am very literate and highly educated.
I have no idea what you are talking about!!!
Could you give us some examples so we can respond intelligently to your post?
Thanks! GG
How useful is that? Can you at least point us toward the thread that ticked you off?
It sounds like someone (male) offended you here at FR. As a guy I'm sorry to hear that. Frankly, I think many of the things said on FR aren't very bright -- but I don't let those comments get to me either.
Because no matter what, we love ya! :-)
And besides, that's what they taught us in the boy scouts!
Don't worry your pretty little head about it, honey.
Uh, it's called sarcasm.....
I'm guessing that she feel offended that the guys want to see the obligatory pic of Ann Coulter, or Peggy Noonan when they do an op/ed piece. Sheesh, don't all folks from both sexes --- no GENDERS --- appreciate an attractive looking individual with brains? Oh well, I guess this is what makes the World-Go-Round. Too many PC insecure folks waling around.
I got your sandwich right here, hon.
DOUBLE STANDARD!!! DOUBLE STANDARD!!!
Thanks babe.
LOL. My favorite post. Thank you.
Thank you for saying that.
I wanted to say the same thing, but since I'm a male, I would likely been attacked for being 'mean' if I questioned the original post.
Honestly, I couldn't really detect a point. I detected a lot of anger, but nothing really of substance.
Hey Hildy, You're like my lovely wife of 33 years. We roll with the punches and accept folks for who the are, become mildly uncomfortable at sexist remarks from both genders; but we put these issues into perspective and enjoy life.
lol
Soooo....let me get this straight....the men are NOT supposed to be MEN, (macho) but they are supposed to "embrace a woman's perspective on issues."
You are a closet feminist....and you know it....that there is right out of the handbook.... "embrace a woman's perspective."
Men say stupid/dumb things all the time...."chest beating and "pissing" so, if they are not "perfect" then they are "less evolved?"
If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen.....conservatives don't pander much to each other.
Yep, I just did a search myself and saw that.
So what's up? I'm intrigued.
Why is that?
I don't think it's any big mystery. Men are physically bigger and stronger, and can be more "predatory" in their desires for conquest of others, especially women. It means we have to be more careful about what we say, because we'll be interpreted in that light. Don't you agree? Have I misunderstood something?
