Drudge: Memos traced to Texas Kinko's...

This is too funny.......my youngest son graduated from ACU 2 years ago. I called him tonight to tell him about this story and he said, "Oh, it will be easy to figure out who did this, there's only one democrat in Abilene anyway."

If the documents were faxed from Kinko's by some wacko ex-TANG then they didn't come from the DNC or the Kerry campaign.

Read slow. Forger sends docs to DNC. DNC sends copies to Kerry.

Five weeks later, DNC says to CBS, "Hey, we know a guy in Texas you should talk to." CBS goes to Texas.

CBS faxes copies to home office in NYC.

IS BUSH CRITIC BEN BARNES "THE SOURCE" of Rathergate's Memos?

Barnes may have vouched for them. He might well be the "unimpeachable source" -- corrupt charlatan, liar and perjurer, though he might be.

But Barnes would NOT have a.) created the memos, nor b.) faxed the memos. Those jobs would be beneath him.

Barnes is probably the link between these memos and both the DNC/Kerry campaign and CBS. The Impresario of Scum, so to speak.

But Burkett will be the fall guy...

For this reason, this mythical header looks like a setup, most likely to blame Birkett and cover up the DNC as a source. CBS could have faxed a copy from Kinko's at the time to cover their tracks in the event their scam blew up.

Data can be recovered, unless you use a advanced wiping program you can recover the data.

Rather Spoke at Democratic Fundraiser

Dan Rather, the longest-serving and most outspoken of the major network news anchors, recently served as the star attraction at a Democratic Party fundraiser.

Donors paid as much as $1,000 for a private evening in Austin with the CBS newsman, according to an invitation obtained by The Washington Post. Rather's appearance at the March 21 gathering generated about $20,000 for the Travis County Democratic Party -- and will undoubtedly provide ammunition to critics who have long accused Rather of leaning to the left.

Rather said yesterday that he hadn't realized beforehand that the event was a fundraiser. "I didn't ask the question, and I should have," he said in an interview. "I take full responsibility for it. I'm responsible and I'm accountable."

But the Texas native stopped short of calling his appearance a mistake or saying he would not have attended had he known in advance that he was being used to raise money.

Acknowledging that he didn't want to sound like Al Gore at a Buddhist temple, Rather said: "When I got there, I was very aware that it was a fundraising event. I'm not going to say I had no idea what was going on. . . . If someone wants to fault me for that, I wouldn't blame them."

Rather said he agreed to discuss election coverage at the invitation of an old friend, Austin City Council member Will Wynn, who drew 150 people to the event in his back yard. He was not paid for his appearance. Other hosts included Scott Ozmun, the county Democratic chairman, and Robin Rather, the anchor's daughter and a Texas environmentalist and marketing executive.

The Austin American-Statesman said Robin Rather is considering a run for mayor and has been consulting with another host of the event, David Butts, a campaign adviser to Mayor Kirk Watson. The CBS veteran said he didn't know that his daughter was an official host. (Emphasis mine(end of snip))

I think the biggest legal liability CBS faces is from the Killian family for defamation.$$$$

Now Burkett...he may legal problems of a more "meet Bubba, he's your new roomate" type.

The documents were faxed via fax machine. My speculation is that the documents were altered, then taken to Kinkos for faxing. Faxing outside the home wouldn't leave a paper trail. Kinkos in Abilene will have a log of any faxs made via fax machine along with the customer name. Find the number faxed to and you can determine the date and time the document was faxed either thru internal documents or telephone bill records as well as the customer name.

Can I just say that as someone new to FP and the blogosphere in general, you guys and gals are amazing! I wonder how long it's been since Dan Rather had the thrill of finding the real story like veryone here shows? Just great work, and keep it up!
