Mama Mia!
Well you can probably get a 1964 Hinckley Islander sailboat for $35,000 ... if it's in rough shape.
I'm just a rich boy, nobody loves me...
I'm just a poor boy
Nobody wants me
(He's just a poor boy from a poor family)
(Spare him his life from this monstrosity)
10 seconds... gotcha!
GALILEO!
He should have named it the "Kerry Mooch"
at least Freddy had it right.
Heated storage, Up there I bet it a $10,000 storage fee for the off season.. A normal person can afford that can't they. O ' the little people..
It is nice. As a matter of fact, it appears that it hasn't been int he water for quite some time. Since the last hull scrape and paint, at least.
Well, if you want something globe-girding and slow, you'd get a Nordhavn 46, which costs about the same, has about the same quality of workmanship, but is a lot slower.
Or you'd compromise with a Grand Banks 42 which is not as spiffy and elegant but quite a bit cheaper and about half the speed.
However, if you want to support the American yacht building industry, Hinckley's pretty darn good.
In this rarified price range, I'd probably go for a Bertram 390 sportfisherman, which I think is more practical, faster but doesn't have that stunning yacht-snob look. That look's what you're paying the big bucks for. The fully equipped 390 is about $525k.
The snob looks are classy and I do love them, but it's poor value for money unless you're primarily into yachting to impress your friends. It also looks like it has a narrow beam and doesn't have much in the way of comfortable accomodations. Beauty, in spades. Comfort, not really.
No shame in admiring the workmanship, though. It's first-rate, best in the business.

Where as most people would not hold "his" money against him they would more than likely frown upon the manor in which he got it.
ROFLMOPO
It's a Little Harbor. Hinckley bought out The Little Harbor Co. We call these boats Little Hinks.
This is from the top people at Hinckley... The scaramouche is a Whisper Jet . Built by the Little Harbor Co. of Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Kerry's boat is not a picnic boat.
Details are to be found at Howie's website. Perhaps it doesn't look it but it is nearly a million dollars worth of boat.
Kerry is quickly moving towards the buffoon stage of his career.
ROFLMOPO?
rolling on the floor laughing my pajamas off .. I was laughing and added an o :-)
