I think they have to be logged on. I can't test my thesis because I can't log off and do a search.

Click on the poster's name after a post. Then you'll get to his FR homepage, where there will be a few links, one of which will be "In Forum".

Click that, and it will bring up the posts by that person.

Honestly, just click on any user name and when you get their home page click on the "In Forum" link near the top.

Any time you change pages or forums, there is a search area. It has four options on the drop-down.

By Title (Score)
By Title (Date)
By Poster
By Keyword

Copy the poster's name into the search box and hit the Search buttom. See here

Type or paste the name of the poster in the search engine and hit "search by poster".

tw ways basically, just look up someones profile and then click In Forum. The other way is to search on Google for your screenname and freerepublic at the same time. That's how I discovered I was being quited in a number of leftie websites. Of course you gotta be here a while and post a lot before they do a profile on you. Eevntually they build up a dossier that ends up on Hillary's collection of members of the VRWC.
