Rather Forges Ahead, Leaving Career in the Dust

Kinda of wet, gooey, and smells way to much for dust.

it will fire Rather before the bottom falls out any further.

While Rather might be the captain of this misbegotten adventure, there's no way he is SOLELY responsible. A lot of other people had to swallow their integrity and go along with it. Somebody has to crack.

When the base of the statue of CBS is being chipped away, by hammer and chisel, and eventually falls to the ground, does anybody hear it?

Some Questions For You:

1) Why has the White House not challenged either the authenticity of the documents, or the truth of the events described therein?

2) Are you certain that the documents were typed by Killian himself? Are you certain the documents were not typed by a Killian aide who may still be alive, and is Rather's source?

3) Do you realize that IBM Selectrics, purchased on government research grants, were in widespread use in universities of that time period?

4) Do you realize that it was a commonplace for typists who did not have custom features on their typewriters to manually adjust the line spacing, and sometimes the font, to insert subscripts and superscripts in mathematical and chemical texts?

5) Do you realize that variations in the heights of superscripts (and depths of subscripts) were commonly seen within single documents typed in that time period because typists had variable skill in making manual adjustments to line spacing?

These queries are not posed with adversarial intent, but simply to raise issues that do not seem to have received much attention to date.

That a hypothetically very expensive typewriter using optional parts could even be found in a National Guard unit which normally operate with hand-me-down office equipment from the full-time services hardly seems likely.

I get it!!

From what Rather tells us about this high-tech equipment, it's becoming increasingly clear that Bush's National Guard Unit was really a CIA outpost. [/sarcasm]

Memo to CBS:
Fire "Slick Danny."

Like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, the modern day heros of the lunitic left Dan Wrather and John Forges Kerry are holed up in their respective hideouts. Dan Wrather no longer walks to fortress Black Rock. He is whisked from home to Black Rock in his trademark liberal limosine to avoid real journalists. John Forges Kerry was last seen going on about something about some imaginary policy in North Korea only to quickly disappear. The pajama posse continues to persue the truth.

Seriously, MSM has news scripts for the next few months on these two gangsters. We of the New Media have volumes of detail on both that they can't answer. Both are cornered like Nixon. Gotcha!

Sit back and enjoy the show. I, for one, will never miss CBS Evening News again. Dan the News Man is OUR talking head. We own him.

Now that that's settled...let's move on.

Who DID the forgeries?

Who passed them on to CBS

This is what I really want to know.

I think CBS will be allowed to stonewall until it is forgotten. I won't forget but many will not care.

The only way to move this story now is for the Killians to sue. I think even the threat of a lawsuit would bring CBS management to their knees.

Calling Ben Ginsburg!

Rather going to be sucking wind when he finally has to admit they are forgeries. It won't be any new evidence he suddenly comes across, it will just be him trying to make the case he hasn't been stonewalling it.

If CBS is smart, and we have reason to believe that there are many people within the network who are, it will fire Rather before the bottom falls out any further.

Smart isn't the issue. Their integrity's been overshadowed by their partisanship. Rather fired? No--he'll retire or move up somewhere in CBS. He was pleasing his employer as much as he was vindicating his own antiBushism.

Dan Rather's credibility is so diminished it's quite comedic to watch him try to hold back a tsunami of evidence ...

Remember he's not speaking to an objective audience. The Democratic faithful want to believe. If CBS is smart, and we have reason to believe that there are many people within the network who are,

Sorry the objective evidence is that CBS is not smart, just fiercely partisan to the left

it will fire Rather before the bottom falls out any further. The CBS Evening News has consistently been the lowest-rated nightly news program on broadcast for nearly 15 years now. After Memogate, we have no doubt the ratings will fall even further with Rather at the helm

None of this matters. CBS "news" is not about news it is about presenting statist propaganda. As long as they don't actually go bankrupt they will continue to present their warped viewpoint of everything American. Blather and CBS news are everything that Joeseph Goebbels wanted to be.
