The Threat Matrix
The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.
"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."
We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research. You be the Judge and Get Informed!

Muslim group takes responsibility for 9-11: 'We are so sorry'
|
|
This September 11 marks the third unforgettable anniversary of the worst mass murder in American history. After September 11, many in the Muslim world chose denial and hallucination rather than face up to the sad fact that Muslims perpetrated the 9-11 terrorist acts and that we have an enormous problem with extremism and support for terrorism. Many Muslims, including religious leaders, and "intellectuals" blamed 9-11 on a Jewish conspiracy and went as far as fabricating a tale that 4000 Jews did not show up for work in the World Trade Center on 9-11. Yet others blamed 9-11 on an American right wing conspiracy or the U.S. Government which allegedly wanted an excuse to invade Iraq and "steal" Iraqi oil.

Things are fine here. Our news is really funny this week. Batman storming Buckingham Palace and protesters at Westminster against banning fox hunting. Not much on the terrorism front to report.
To: JustPiper
Speaking of taglines, Rita Katz is being investigated? I obviously missed some articles...
To: JustPiper
LOL. I was one step ahead of you; I already saw your tagline and asked you a question about it!
To: Selene
I am thinking it could be caused by sunspot activity.Maybe not:

I have considered that, but I am not sure that any of our B-2 stealth bombers have been modified to carry such a beast and it is too big for an F-117. Any of our conventional bombers (B-52 or B-1) would have been detected. Origional design of the MOAB was to be kicked out the back of a C-130 with the main difference that the C-130 could be considerably higher than for the daisy cutter and with the bomb guidance, far more accurate.
Just what happened will be speculation for a while, however, I suspect another safety violation in their rocket fuel plant or munitions plant, all in the same vicinity.

Ahhh, I think I read too, too much into your tagline.
You probably mean that Katz continues to be largely ignored by the agencies and individuals who should be investigating the OKC/islamic terrorism connection.
I wondered whether Katz got herself into some recent trouble at first... Glad I am wrong.

Ive finished my analysis of alledged seismic data that alledgedly recorded the blast(s) in N. Korea the night of Sept 8-9, 2004. Condensed version of my analysis is that the available on-line seismic records did not record any events related to the explosion(s) in the time frame initially alleged. This does not rule out the potential that seismographs not linked for on-line review recorded the event.
Slightly longer, technical version:
The Reuters news reported that two blasts occurred the night of Sept 8-9. The first at about 2300 Local Sept 8 and the second at 0100 local , Sept 9. As reported in my 9/14 summary, the two stations the closest to N. Korea, Inchon, S. Korea (station id INCN) and Mudanjiang, China (station id MDJ), had data available for on-line review. I accessed the data via www.iris.edu. Both stations were technologically up-to-date. However, seismic traces did not have any amplitude lines and limited time marks. Time recording for seismic is in GMT standard and local time is 9 hours ahead of GMT. For the first alleged event, I scanned the 1400-1500 GMT time frame. There was a seismic event recorded at both sites at approximately 1502 and 1504 GMT Sep 8 (0002 and 0004 Sep 9 local) respectively. These recorded events were apparently interpreted by seismologists associated with www.iris.edu as being associated with a 6.0 quake near the south coast of Honshu that occurred at 1458 GMT Sep 8. Station INCN and MDJ were the second and fourth closest to the epicenter.
However, about 12 minutes prior to the arrival of the shock waves from the Japanese quake, a VERY small event was recorded at both stations. However, due to its timing, it is still 45 minutes after the alleged time of the first blast. Secondly, this much smaller event did not have a signature of an explosive event a high amplitude S-wave, but looked more like a standard earthquake record. One must remember that aftershocks were ongoing in the Japan area following the two severe quakes over Labor day weekend. As noted above, these stations are the second and fourth closest to the Japanese quakes, so there is a high probability that they would pick up smaller aftershocks more readily. So without better timing from another source for the blasts in N. Korea, I cannot verify that this little seismic event is associated with it.
Now the first aerial imagery of the site is becoming available, so I will be pouring over those to see what I can pick out.

Maybe there is a new fangled conventional (pseudo conventional!) weapon compression technology bomb that the stealth can carry? I'm sure we have lots of toys still in the DoD toybox.

Anyone registered at the LA Times Web site? I wanted to look at this article about our favorite Egyptian illegal-alien smuggler, but they want registration.
US Fears Terrorism Via Mexico's Time-Tested Smuggling Routes
Los Angeles Times (subscription) - Los Angeles,CA,USA ... Ashraf Ahmed Abdallah, 34, was charged with directing migrants from Egypt and neighboring countries to travel to Latin America, and from there to Guatemala ...
