New Questions On Bush Guard Duty

CBS) The military records of the two men running for president have become part of the political arsenal in this campaign – a tool for building up, or blowing up, each candidate’s credibility as America's next commander-in-chief.

While Sen. Kerry has been targeted for what he did in Vietnam, President Bush has been criticized for avoiding Vietnam by landing a spot in the Texas Air National Guard - and then failing to meet some of his obligations.

Did then-Lt. Bush fulfill all of his military obligations? And just how did he land that spot in the National Guard in the first place? Correspondent Dan Rather has new information on the president’s military service – and the first-ever interview with the man who says he pulled strings to get young George W. Bush into the Texas Air National Guard.

...

But 60 Minutes has obtained a number of documents we are told were taken from Col. Killian's personal file. Among them, a never-before-seen memorandum from May 1972, where Killian writes that Lt. Bush called him to talk about "how he can get out of coming to drill from now through November."

Lt. Bush tells his commander "he is working on a campaign in Alabama…. and may not have time to take his physical." Killian adds that he thinks Lt. Bush has gone over his head, and is "talking to someone upstairs."

Col. Killian died in 1984. 60 Minutes consulted a handwriting analyst and document expert who believes the material is authentic.

I just tried it and also did Courier New. Wasn't Courier the typical typewriter font back then?

Peggy Noonan took a leave of absence to work for the Bush Campaign in any capacity. How is it that Rather, Carville and that Paul Bataglia, (or whatever his name is,) can maintain their posts at CBS and CNN and work for a candidate?

A major tipoff that this is a forgery is the "th" in the 111th. It is miniturized automatically. They didnt have that in 1972.

http://www.cbsnews.com/htdocs/pdf/BushGuardmay4.pdf

Go to this link, look at #2 where it says, "Report to 111th F.L.S...... Look at the th in the "111th'. It is miniturized!!!!

Mintz is another guy who will not access any interviews, who wants his 15 minutes of fame and suit case full of money. He didn't see Bush... so? Weren't there 600 or so guardsman there?

Byron York's National Review article covers all of this. This is old news. The records clearly show that Bush served honorably...

In 72 the kind of “Letter quality” printer you might have available are a teletype, daisy wheel or, typewriter conversion … (I started my career in computers in 80 doing printer repair) other than that in printer it was dot matrix

One is signed by a man. The other is signed by a woman.
I'm no expert, but I am a person of all trades and master of none. I've read books on handwriting out of curiosity after a VA college check of mine was stolen and forged. The FBI wanted hand writing samples.

He'll respond with:

"Look, John Kerry is a war hero and Bush was AWOL."

It's all they can say to everything.

We used punched cards man! If we wanted to type something, we used an IBM Selectric typewriter! State of the art word-processing in the 1970's!

We didn't HAVE schmiggly wiggly MONITORS!!! And weeeeeee LIKED it!!!!

Are you f'ing kidding me? These are the memos CBS showed? ROFL. These are such obvious forgeries it is RIDICULOUS.

1. Those were clearly typed in Times New Roman or a similar font. No way that existed in 1972 and 1973. At the very least, Killian went back years later and created these, and at the worst, they are outright forgeries.

2. If these memos were indeed found in Killian's own file - and where else could they have been all these years and never discovered?? - they would not appear to have been repeatedly photocopied, they would be ORIGINALS!!! D'oh!

3. If these were memos Killian wrote to his own file for CYA purposes, why would he bother to put a self-typed letterhead on them? Nobody does this on memos for their own files.

This is an embarrasingle amateurish effort. But don't forget that TIME and Newsweek both ran cover stories on "The Hitler Diaries" before they were exposed as fakes. This would not be the first time a major media outlet desperate for a scoop fell for a hoax!

Handwriting expert?

A valid sig is about the easiest thing to fake when one
is creating an n-th generation forgery, as long as the
forger has access to a genuine sig to scan and drop into
the fake.

A question that arises here is, what is the paper trail?

Was this forgery Berger'd into the US archives, or did
someone create it downstream, before it got to CBS?

George W. Bush is not running on his military record. John F'n Kerry has made his entire campaign on his Viet Nam record. That is the difference.

Kerry has made his military records germain to this election and campaign. Again, Bush has not. Tit for tat is irrelevant here.

What else has Mr. John F'n Kerry done besides Viet Nam?? A un acceptable Massachusetts Senate voting record.

By the way, the picture of the rifle he is handling I saw a few days ago, looking like he was in favor of gun rights. He tried to get that same weapon banned. He was responsible for the writing of the bill, not just voting for it.
