Bush I tried the same stuff in fall '92 and they lost for sure. You would think the Democrats and the partisan media would learn optimism trumps pessimism every time. Be happy they don't get it.

Anyone else tired of hearing about the "closely divided nation" and "razor thin leads", etc? I never bought it. The last Prez election may have reflected that but trends and elections since then have not. The polls are contrived anyway. It's all such a game, same old rhetoric over and over.

The only people about to have a rough ride are those tied to the plane crash also known as the Kerry campaign.
The MSM is going to pull all the stops to get Kerry elected. To the MSM, this is more than a presidential election in that it has committed its credibility to winning. This is a refendum on the power of the press, and whether an openly partisan press has the influence to put an unqualified candidate in the presidency. Every poll the shows Kerry behind is a slap in the face of Dan Rather and the MSM, and a Bush victory will relegate him to irrelevance.
I live in an ultra-liberal community in California (a university town no less) - and it's VERY quiet.....you can see the sadness and frustration. I ,of course, am smiling like a new groom, looking forward to the honeymoon!

This is pretty funny, actually. The people will discount any information on Bush's National Guard career, because he now has on his resume four years as C in C. Accusations of drugs will only serve to shed light on the huge void dwelling withing the Dem campaign.
