Pop star Madonna drew massive applause from a sold-out crowd in Paris when she dedicated her version of John Lennons peace ode Imagine to the Russian hostage crisis.
Addressing the audience midway through her show last night, Madonna spoke briefly about the tragedy at a Russian school that left at least 350 dead, including pupils, teachers and mothers.
As video images of war and children were broadcast behind her on giant screens, the pop diva urged her fans at Paris Bercy stadium to think about what happened in Russia and to think about Lennons lyrics.
Broken down bag trying to revitalize her image by using John Lennon to exploit a very tragic situation. He, at least, was moved enough and was creative enough to write those lyrics. Wonder what he would think of that whore trying to capitalize on them.
Mad Donna can go back to contemplating her belly button now. The lint jar is about full.
Why do liberals always think this is a good song to sing at a funeral? People actually find great comfort in religion and the idea of an afterlife, PARTICULARLY when their loved one dies. Why try to take the hope of heaven away from the parents of these children? "Imagine there's no heaven" is tacky beyond words.
Early? I think she was doing nude layouts as her entre in to "show business".
I had it with Madonna when she was turning her first(?) pregnancy in to a career move. Her trainer or the like
was the alleged father.
Then there was the constant f-bomb dropping on Letterman.
Yep, she needs to revitalize her career.
She doesn't realize how trite she sounds.
did she blame Bush?
Good question. I have had similar thoughts about this song. I have come to believe that most folks don't really hear most of the words or think about what they might mean. On the surface the song seems one of hope for a better world where all the people live in peace, brotherhood of man......not an ode to communism.
The song "Let it Be" is similar for me. "let it be" are words of wisdom? Mother Mary was a dolt.
ANS: A brunette.
BADDA - BUMP - BUMP!
It was not an accident.
A truly wretched socialist dirge, I literally cringe whenever I hear the first gloomy, flaccid tones.
There's just something a bit fruity about multi-millionaires getting all preachy about world peace and whining how there's no need for money or posessions. Sure John.
Not only a millionairess, but someone who TOUTED herself as "THE MATERIAL GIRL."
Imagine there's no Islam.
She is shamefull, marketing herself in death like this.
Her career has to be on vapors to be this desperate.
I'm disappointed that this wasn't said earlier than post #9--hey, number nine... never mind--and deeply saddened.
Imagine there's no Madonna...LOL!
...and no John Kerry, too?
From kerry.senate.gov:
Yeah, I might say you're a dreamer. That Fruitopian anthem is musical ipecac.
Truly liberal pacifist way of not dealing with an issue.

[mean time, the kids growed up or been punched in the face..]
9. Liberal onlookers try to Imagine what peace might be like if they could just do something more than negotiate and appease the bully.
10. Conservative comes in, clocks bully, patches up the liberal.
11. Liberal screams bloody murder.
I thought she changed her name to Zelda or something.
