Pop star Madonna drew massive applause from a sold-out crowd in Paris when she dedicated her version of John Lennons peace ode Imagine to the Russian hostage crisis.
Addressing the audience midway through her show last night, Madonna spoke briefly about the tragedy at a Russian school that left at least 350 dead, including pupils, teachers and mothers.
As video images of war and children were broadcast behind her on giant screens, the pop diva urged her fans at Paris Bercy stadium to think about what happened in Russia and to think about Lennons lyrics.

I wondered if anyone was going to mention, this song is an ode to communism, not to peace. How ignorant was it for this ditz to dedicate a song meant to glorify communism to Russia ?

So true.
War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions, and blood of better men than himself. --John Stewart Mill--

Yeah, I'm sure the mothers and fathers of the dead children were sitting around just waiting to hear her sing. Pretentious bitch. To mutilate a phrase, how about you just "shut up and don't sing."

You just can't make this stuff up, folks. The starry-eyed delusions of The Left just can't be topped - even in the face of the horrible facts.
Imagine
by John Lennon
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today, ah-ha
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You, may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
Nothing to kill or die for
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You, you may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
I'm sure the Russians will appreciate the sentiment. I would advise Madonna not to book any concerts in Russia for a long, long time!

I'd like to slap her silly. What a moron.
Yeah, we'd just all like to imagine it. Well, honey, there are people out there who want to cut our throats, burn our children, blow us to bits.

Oh thanks but no thanks. Maybe the Russians consider liberal anthems sang by some yellowed, moth-eaten, soiled nymphomaniac a "tribute" to their murdered loved ones, but I think it's blasphemous. Note to world, if I'm ever killed by a terrorist, please don't let some exhausted whore anywhere near the microphone.
As a side note, I think that she was truly trying to do something charitable and is just too stupid to know how ridiculous her idea was. Hats off to her for being kind, hats thrown at her for being ignorant.
