Pop star Madonna drew massive applause from a sold-out crowd in Paris when she dedicated her version of John Lennons peace ode Imagine to the Russian hostage crisis.
Addressing the audience midway through her show last night, Madonna spoke briefly about the tragedy at a Russian school that left at least 350 dead, including pupils, teachers and mothers.
As video images of war and children were broadcast behind her on giant screens, the pop diva urged her fans at Paris Bercy stadium to think about what happened in Russia and to think about Lennons lyrics.

And while we're all sitting around "imagining" that there's no war and no weapons, they'll be blowing us out of this world. How sweet.

And how nice to tell the parents to "imagine there's no heaven".
That is one of the worst songs ever written... Liberal Anthem...

Madonna--what a voice of a generation. Let's play pretend--I'll be the evil bad Muslim and you can be the beautiful princess, high in the castle. Now you must imagine me away!! Isn't this fun?

Why would we want to imagine no heaven because of that massacre?

Imagine there's no Madonna, it's easy if you try.

She needs attention to revitalize her career -- just like Janet Jackson. But she played the "Boob Flash" card too early in her career.

So why didn't she go to Isreal when those wonderful Muslims threatened her life??? All she had to do was sing "Imagine".

Lennon = Lenin. It's pure communist song.

Thanks, Madonna. I'm sure all the bereaved feel much better now.
I love that song -- what is the lyric? Oh, yes: "Imagine no possessions, it's easy if you have $200 million . . ." Oh, wait. That can't be right.

'Imagine' is the perfect song for idealists who never matured beyond the age of 7 mentally.

I'm a huge Lennon fan, but "Imagine" is one of his weakest efforts. "Instant Karma" is more like it!

You know, I like the melody on the song. The groove. It's pretty smooth. Just stupid lyrics.
