Maybe they knew it would, and chose not to air it. That is what I call "soft" media bias...it's all about what they don't show, it's all about what they don't say, it's all about what they edit out of the same news stories.
You are absolutely correct...the GOP 2004 Convention is the "nose over" for the LSM/MSM...great news! Go Fox! Go FR!
LSM say the conventions of neither party are important. They're not news. They strive to give "equal time". They do not want to allow either party to give their message directly to the voters.
I watched on CSpan, but without seeing even one moment of network coverage, bet I can tell you what the network talking heads were telling viewers. The conventions are only a show & do not show people the real party.
I'd like to see the numbers for CSpan too. CSpan, the quiet network that helped change the nation. Newt's rise to power began there.
There is an increasing body of academic research showing that journalism is being slanted heavily to the left through two techniques, story selection and "framing." The first is obvious---don't cover pro-life marches, cover eight angry NAGS at a "pro-choice" march. The latter means using biased or "coded" words to set up a story before getting to the meat of the story. For ex., if the story is about tax cuts, work in the phrase "tax cuts for the wealthy" somewhere early, or discuss a millionaire. If it is welfare, make sure the story has a welfare mom whose husband left her and who has three kids, not a crack ho who has made a much different choice.
