Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry traveled by bus across Ohio Friday. Kerry held a "front porch" discussion at the home a laid-off worker in Newark. Kerry spoke to about 75 people in a neighborhood of modest, one-story homes and then later held a campaign rally in the town described as a mix between blue- and white-collar workers. A Kerry spokeswoman says Newark was chosen in part because it has lost jobs, making it a good place for Kerry to tout his program for creating new ones. Kerry told people they had to be part of the solution and not get frustrated. Ohio's job losses are a key issue in the swing state. Kerry also focused on his opponent's track record, saying that President Bush didn't keep the promises he made as a candidate four years ago and pledged to do better if elected. Kerry summed up Bush's convention speech in four words: "All hat, no cattle." "This president and the Republican Party will say anything and do anything to get re-elected, anything except take care of middle-class families that are struggling in this country," Kerry said. Kerry referred to Friday's report of slower-than-expected job growth as one example of Bush's failed promises and said, "I don't think this is something to celebrate." Smarting from criticism at the Republican convention of his military record in Vietnam and his fitness to be president, Kerry lashed out at Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney. "If you think America four years later is moving in the right direction, if you think your lives are better, you go vote for George Bush," Kerry told the group gathered on the front lawn of Mark and Debbie Bickle's pale yellow, ranch-style house. "But if you think we can do better, we want you to join this cause and change the direction of this country," the Democratic presidential candidate said. Polls show Kerry and President Bush virtually tied in Ohio. Bush is scheduled to arrive in Cleveland tonight.
Perhaps that explains why Terayza has not opened her checkbook to defend his honor, as she earlier threatened.
Texas slang?! I'm from Texas and I don't know what the heck that man was talking about.
That's Texas slang ---- and it's use by amatuers like Kerry is NOT recommended. Bush is likely to tell the American people that the DemoRat's candidate "is peeing on their boots and trying to convince them that it's a rainstorm"!
Since he likes the water, what about: "All wind, no sails"
He also made the following dumb comments
We have some really important news to share, the Red Sox have closed the gap to 2 1/2 games... Idiot- the Yankees won, the gap was still 3 1/2 games
He also said, I have 5 words for all of you - this is your wake up call (that's 6 words)...
Other recent gaffes were his favorite (current) Red Sox player- Manny Ortiz (there's a Manny Ramirez and a David Ortiz)... He also called the stadium used by the Packers Lambert Stadium, when it's Lambeu Field.
Moron.
It was a "porch" meeting 'cause thats where you hang out if you can't run with the big dogs.
John Kerry is all Purple Heart, No Bloodshed
LOL!
You must have heard those great old Texas-isms!! I lived there for about 10 years and relished every new one I heard.
How about: "It's been so dry that the Baptists are dipping, the Methodists are sprinkling, and the Catholics are giving IOUs."
I've been looking for a book of these great old Texas sayings for years.
When the number of reporters starts to exceed the number of people who came to listen to the candidate...you're in trouble.
Nothing in the world more comical than a New Englander trying to sound like a good ol' boy.
Kerry - fake medals, no valor.
I wonder how much the "worker" got paid by the gigolo and his wife.
All hat no cattle
longtail cat room full'o rockin chairs
The engine's runnin' but ain't nobody driving
We've howdied but we ain't shook yet
Yeah, it's perfect. It's on the net, and I traced it to Tony Snow, and maybe he took it from somebody else. I googled it and found it at

Left off the sarcasm tag, I hope...
Time to paint your butt white and run with the antelope
