I hope he will be okay. There are some who talk sh*t about Clinton, and I think that is wrong. A person's illness should not be mocked or laughed at. God bless everybody, not just those that share your certain political views.
Clinton is famous for not doing the things he was required to do. Like get security clearance for his staff and small stuff like that. The reporters during the Reagan funeral said often that he had never done his funeral plan.
Not that I am in a position to know, and not that reporters always report the truth, but that is what they said.
Swelling under the eyes is not a classic sign of CVD.
I also wish Clinton the best. Usually this kind of thing is genetic actually, so all those blaming Mickey D's should realize that.

The WH doctors did state in the 1999 checkup that Clinton had allergy problems. That would be one possible explanation for the puffy eyes.
I sure hope he is OK.
But, if he is not then I hope

DALLAS, June 1 1999 Cocaine Triggers Heart Attacks
Within One Hour" During the first hour after using cocaine, the user's risk of heart attack increases nearly 24 times, according to the first large study of the long-suspected relationship between cocaine and heart disease. The research is reported in today's Circulation: Journal of the American Heart Association. "Cocaine significantly increases the risk of heart attack in individuals who are otherwise at low risk," says Murray A. Mittleman, M.D., Dr. P.H., of the Institute for Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, who headed the research project.
"The average age of people in the study who suffered heart attacks soon after using cocaine was only 44," Mittleman notes. "That's about 17 years younger than the average heart attack patient. Of the 38 cocaine users who had heart attacks, 29 had no prior symptoms of heart disease."
Research over the past decade has suggested a strong cause-and-effect relationship between cocaine use and heart attacks and strokes. But this is the first study to examine the direct and devastating short-term effects of cocaine on the heart.
Known as the Determinants of Myocardial Infarction Onset Study, the research was carried out between 1989 and 1996 at 64 medical centers across the United States and included interviews with 2,664 men and 1,282 women who had suffered a non-fatal heart attack. The individuals ranged in age from 20 to 92. Thirty-eight individuals reported cocaine use in the prior year, and nine reported use of the drug within 60 minutes before their heart attacks.
Mittleman notes that cocaine users are more likely to be male and to smoke cigarettes. Smoking is a major risk factor for heart attack. These two variables were accounted for in assessing whether cocaine use increases the risk for heart attack.
"More research is definitely needed," Mittleman says. "We'd like to learn more about the difference that gender and frequency of use may make in cocaine-associated risk."
The researchers plan a similar study to examine the relationship between stroke and cocaine.
"Studying the mechanisms by which cocaine triggers heart attack may provide insights into how other factors, such as stress, or sudden exertion, may also trigger heart attacks and strokes," says Mittleman.
Researchers suggest several ways that cocaine may trigger a heart attack. Cocaine can cause a sudden rise in blood pressure, heart rate and contractions of the left ventricle (or pumping chamber) of the heart. These effects can increase the risk of a heart attack. Cocaine also tightly squeezes, or constricts, the coronary arteries that feed blood to the heart. If the artery constricts, blood flow to the heart and brain can be obstructed, causing a heart attack or stroke.
More than 30 million Americans are believed to have tried cocaine, and an estimated 5 million are regular users, so an understanding of the drug's associated heart-disease risk is an important public health issue, says Mittleman.
"As the public learns more about the huge risk involved in using cocaine, we hope fewer people will want to experiment with this truly dangerous drug," says Mittleman. "In addition, we hope that drug education campaigns may use this information about the magnitude of the heart-disease risk associated with cocaine use to prevent individuals from becoming first-time users." I find it odd that suddenly, one could need quadruple bypass surgery. Wouldn't this have been coming on for some time?
The body has a remarkable ability to compensate. The coronary arteries are able to dilate, widen, to maintain blood flow despite a building blockage. During this time, there are no symptoms since the blood flow and the all important oxygen delivery is maintained.
The problem comes when the artery can't get any bigger. It is stretched to the limit and the blockage continues to build, slowly starving the heart muscle cells it feeds. These are the "silent attacks". The heart cells are able to adapt for a long time to the lowered oxygen environment but they can can only adapt for so long - the oxygen levels fall to far for too long and the heart becomes damaged and cells die.
The sudden "heart attacks" are when the blockage breaks off (a blockage damages the artery beneath and there can be an eruption of material like a volcano inside the artery that throws a large amount of rubbish into the blood stream). This causes a logjam downstream, suddenly cutting off all flow. The sudden ischemia, lack of oxygen, results in the pain people associate with a heart attack.
Since the problem usually develops slowly and the body can compensate for it, there are no obvious symptoms so none of the more involved testing is done. A doctor doesn't order expensive, involved tests like angiogram, dopplers, imaging scans etc for a patient who just played a few games of tennis with no difficulty before coming in for a physical. Yet that patient may have 70-80% blockage of a major coronary vessel but the heart is able to handle it. It's when it hits the tipping point that the danger signs show up - chest pain or angina, difficulty in breathing, heavy sweating (diaphoresis).
If a patient doesn't mention a problem or present with signs and symptoms during the assessment, we don't run a more in depth check unless there is a reason to - like significant history....well, Joe, you're 55, and you're dad died at 56 from an MI, so did your mom, your brother, and your grandparents. So, it would be a good idea to hook you up to the ECG, do a stress test, get a sonogram, angiogram, etc.
Bear in mind too that Clinton had a lot to hide in his physicals. It is hard to help a patient that lies about their symptoms. So, Clinton's physicals were probably basic and perfunctory.
So no hints of heart disease wouldn't show up in a basic physical since the heart was still compensating and Clinton didn't say,' Doc, I've got this squeezing inside my chest that goes away if I sit and rest for a bit.' And yes, this would have been coming on for some time. Blockages are a slow process and arteries can handles being partially blocked up to a point. He just finally hit that point and all the silent symptoms became really loud and insistent.

to find out how much reserve ones heart has, some type of stress test is needed. a resting ekg generally won't do.
I hope that this brush with mortality serves as a wake-up call for Clinton....we should all hope that it inspires him to repent of his many many crimes against America, women, the unborn, etc, etc
