I saw CSPAN have on the screen earlier Franks listed at 8:35pm ET.

(Just saw it the one time, though)

Rush made a point today. What Zell did was rather a throwback to the politics used to be, before the days of focus groups; by which I think he was saying, not turn off anyone.

Time will tell. The Buchanan speech question is interesting. That was then - when the MSM had all the power. ThHis is now. The new media is here.

Mark Levin is replaying the Matthews-Miller exchange last time. I am ROFLMAO, even though I watched it 2x last nite.

That is going to go down in TV history as another classic. Zell's speech and Zell's slapping Chris were both classics. 2 home runs in the same evening for Zell.

Correction to what I thought Major Garrett reported: I did not hear Bush 41 question the medals. However, he did say the Swift Vets weren't a bunch of "whackos".

Why did Wolf get testy with Wesley Clark.

I got to see Joe Scarborough practically give him a virtual kiss earlier (Gen. Clark, thank you very much for coming on this show and giving us your valuable expertise, breathed Joe)

Oh--that's where I heard "medals" from Garrett. I was typing his Bush 41 report and didn't catch the segue.

More mistakes from Old Media:

"Even Dan Rather of CBS News, whom conservatives have been persecuting for years as being "liberal," was taken with Schwarzenegger's very combative speech, saying he "slapped Kerry around like a hockey puck."
-Tom Shales, Washington Post
(Gov. Schwarzenegger never mentioned Kerry in his speech)

Different reasons for different states.

Many times there is a selected state that they want to put the candidate over the top. It helps secure the base for that state. So they will simply do that math and realize that somebody needs to pass so that the candidate does not get the needed votes (I think 1255) to be put over the top.

Others want to pass so they can do it at a time when they think they may get more exposure....and help the GOP in that state grow.

And there have been times when a key person for a particular state...that they want present...has been delayed. That is a rare case.

I have real consistency issues with Joe Scarborough. I know he is trying to be fair but there comes a point where facts are facts.

Zell has put our War on Terror in stark perspective--

I recall on 9/11 - I told a friend at work, "Nothing will ever be the same again."

Of course, that was right. But, the Dims are committed to the proposition, that all is well; or will be well, if they get their hands on the wheel.

Job from now to November is to hammer on the real danger that we face.

Zell made a start for us.

Yep.

I noticed that he did not crack a single smile. Nor, was he going for the audience applause and cheers. Man with a message on a mission.

FREEPERS...a little help please...

Isn't today (Sept. 2)...the same date that George Bush 41 was shot down by enemy fire while fighting for his country......I think 60 years ago?

If it is...I doubt the media will mention it.

Army gave you a good explanation.

In "olden days" it really was a much bigger deal; in fact, the whole roll call was very suspenseful; some of us old timers miss it. Especially when you weren't sure who would win.

"The military is a rigorous culture that places a high premium on battlefield accomplishment.... In a sense, there's nothing that says more about your career than when you fought, where you fought and how you fought.... If you wind up being less than what you’re pretending to be, there is a major confrontation with value and self-esteem and your sense of how others view you.... When you are the chief of them all, it has to weigh even more heavily.” -- John F. Kerry, who received both a Silver Star and a Bronze Star with "V" pins for valor, as quoted by the Boston Herald, May 18, 1996
