What does Joe Lockhart get out of this? He's a partner in one of those high-priced Washington "public affairs" outfits, probably pulling down $500K a year. His last big visible job was Press Secretary to the President. Why does he take this, knowing it's only going to spray loser-stink on him? Somebody must have promised him something really good if he would be the Good Soldier for a few months.

Some talking head from last night reminded viewers that Kerry got the nod by default. The dems were desperate to keep Howard Dean from being their candidate so they assisted in Dean's destruction, in order to hand the nomination to Kerry. I believe that's true.

Kerry had imploded already, he was toasted by the emergence of Howard Dean. Way back last summer I predicted Kerry would be the dem's candidate because logically, he was the only one the dems could claim had military experience. I ended up being right, but not because of brilliance on my part.

After these months of seeing how lazy Kerry is, finding out what a do-nothing senator he was, and how many vacations he requires, maybe his campaign was a sham all along, in cahoots with Hillary, and with no intention of winning. Hillary could have promised Kerry the VP slot in 2008 and when you think about it, isn't Kerry more mentally and physically suited to be second banana? (his senate career has been second banana to Teddy, hasn't it?) Hillary's VP would be insignificant, she wouldn't share the spotlight. It offers lots of time off to play with his toys, lots of travel to Europe..it's perfect for him and Teresa.
