Wolf, Greenfield trashing Bush Daughters...
They went on about five minutes too long. Laura was good, but I think they should have led off with her and closed with Ahnold.
I felt the same way. the crowd wasn't all that reponsive to them either.
They are wonderful and sweet kids. What concerns me is that their performance tonight was rather short of the mark. They came off looking like a couple of sweet and lovely kids who didn't know where they were.
But...I still lov'em. They're pretty cute.
I knew the media would do this. Instead of focusing on Governor Arnold, they are focusing on two young inexperienced women. People who were not watching themselves tonight will get biased news and a bad spin on the night.
In fairness, aren't the Kerry girls quite a bit older than the twins? I can tell you at 22 years old, I'd be real nervous in front of that crowd. Hell, I'd be nervous at 40.
That said, somebody should have known that and at least coached them more or better yet, taped it.
They're getting hammered on every station. FOX by far hammered them the most. Here's the thing....granted I'm 30 but I have a sister a bit younger than them and a brother their age.
The twons weren't there to get 50 year olds to vote for their father, I'm not sure they were going to get kids their age to vote for W, but they are what they are. 21 year olds who aren't very big into politics who are just out of college.
Whether people like it or not, often humorous jabs at themselves and their family is the way that kids show their love and respect for their parents.
It might seem bad, but thats the way it is often now.
I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. Let the stiff news personalities bitch about it.
Too giggly.
They did great.
Fred Barnes said something to the effect that it was unfortunate that the twins AND Laura had to follow Arnold. Also, that the twins should not look for a job as comedians.
Mort Kondrake thought they were "ditses". Mara Liason thought they came across as dimwitted giggling teenagers.
Bill Kristol thought that the twins and Laura hurt the Bush momentum tonight.
Just the messenger folks!
However, I believe that all will be forgotten by the end of tomorrow nights festivities. Let DU have their low life fun at the expense of innocent teenage girls and a very classy Laura Bush. By next week the bump should be growing.
Did you hear what Chris Wallace on FoxNews had to say about Barbara and Jenna? He loved their speech! I did as well. I found it refreshing, unlike the Kerry daughters scripted hampster story fiasco.
I could care less about CNN pundits. They're so predictible.
I didn't think they were that good either, but it was brave of them to go before a national audience the way they did. Sure, they can't tell a joke to save their lives, but it does show unity in the family.
Aren't the sKerry daughters older than the Bush twins anyway?
I thought they were pretty cute myself. (but I am biased, lol)
They bombed. But they're still a pair of hotties.
Anyone who watched tonight was impressed by Arnold and Mrs. Bush. More so with Arnold, of course.
Same here, though I did not mind looking at them. It was cheezy, but, hell conventions where delegates wear elephant trunks on their nose do have some room for cheeziness. It was not like anyone expected a foreign policy directive from them.
Fox wasn't kind either ... Mort said they were ditzy or somesuch.
IMHO it was a bad act to follow Arnold. They should of had the Harlem Boys Choir sing then instead.
Yes, it was lame. But, they seemed like normal young ladies. We shouldn't have been expecting a polished presentation. In fact, its amateurishness was really its charm.
Wife and I thought they were Funny and Great. Chris Wallace was right, they will get offers of Jobs.
oh good grief folks, what were you expecting from them. They came out to introduce their father, nothing more. If they told some lame jokes, so what. It still pales in comparison to how silly the Kerry daughters sounded after the hamster story.
