Battlegrounds States Poll - August 23, 2004

The contest for the White House remains tight, according to the latest Zogby Interactive poll of likely voters in 16 battleground states. Although the map is awash in blue, with President Bush leading in only two of the battleground states, down from the three states he held three weeks ago, the results in three-quarters of the states in the survey are within the margin of error -- meaning those states remain very hotly contested. Mr. Kerry holds the top spot in 14 of the 16 polled states, up from 13 in the previous poll.

Who knows if Kerry is leading or not (probably not), but Zogby's 21 point shift proves that he's smoking some pretty impressive acid. Rasmussen shows no movement over the past 2 months and most state polls generally haven't deviated that much.

[Pulls wrinkled piece of paper from pocket and reads] Folks, none of this matters. The only activism that matters right now is GOTV. Please, please call the campaign and volunteer to register new voters in GOP neighborhoods. The electorate must be expanded and it must be expanded with GOP voters. It's the only useful way to focus energy.
[puts paper back in pocket and trudges off to next poll thread]

It is getting grimer and grimer, and your guy is in deep sh*t. Bush now has about 320 EVs by any serious (non-partisan) poll. He now has OH and FL. AZ, NC, AR, and MO are drifting into the "locked up" category, and NM, IA, WI are all tied. In other words, dear troll, your guy can't count on ONE state Gore lost in 2000, while Bush is now tied or leading in about 5 Gore states. So sad.

1. Zogby's state polls are a joke. They have never been accurate--ever.
2. Bush is ahead in FL, OH, TN, WV, AR, MO, CO, and is closing in on WI, MN, and MI. He may even take PA and NJ.
3. Kerry is now fighting a two-front defensive war. His attempt to blame Bush for the swiftboat ad is getting nowhere.
4. Kerry has lost ground in the swing states, according to Gallup. In fact, his entire campaign is losing altitude fast.
5. Bush still has big cards to play. Despite the 60million bucks of 527s aimed at him, plus the free advertising supplied nightly to the democrats by the media, Bush's numbers keep rising steadily.
6. Karl Rove has got to be delighted. The swifties have clobbered Kerry for weeks and all Kerry has done was whine and complain and beg Bush to stop being such a meanie. He thinks this will make the whole thing backfire--which means he's incredibly stupid. If he can't run a campaign, how is he gonna run a war on terror?
7. You meant "grimmer," not "grimer."

Look how out of line zogby interactive polls are with others on the link below! interactive polls are not reliable because they are "self selected". Even in their regular polls there is about a 2% Dem bias.
I guarantee you if we are leading in Ohio and West Virginia with the margins shown we would not be loosing Tennessee and Arkansas and Missouri as shown.
