NBC TV News | 8/20/04 | NBC

Posted on 08/20/2004 5:46:39 PM PDT by RS

Did I hear this right on NBC News ? The Kerry people have "threatened " Bush that if he does not denounce the Swiftvets ads , that "everything" would be on the table ? ( Meaning they would start to attack Bushs military record )

Good Lord! Do you know for how *long* the Bush family has come under attack?

Their internal polls *must* show that this is killing them! They've come unhinged! Sheesh...they're as rabid as if Howard Dean would be if he was the candidate.

PS-Many of you here are going to hate this, but you know who's going to shield Pres. Bush most effectively in the days/weeks to come over this issue?

John McCain. Just wait and see.

President Bush should call a news conference, the topic should be "Swiftboat Vets Ad" (it'll give them even more publicity), he'll get quite a crowd, then he'll say, this is a 527 organization, which I don't support. I had NOTHING to do with it... By the way, why has the media been silent on the Dem 527s, which have outspent GOP 527s 67 million to 1 million... this doesn't even include F-911, and CBS News' free publicity. Also, why hasn't SKumbag SKerry denounced any of these DEM 527s?

This sure seems like a meltdown. The Mainstream Media is doing all they can to prop Kerry up and he keeps shooting himself in the foot.

But then again, "self inflicted wounds" appear to be a Kerry trademark.

They already attacked Bush's record. And accused him of treason, murder, and almost every other crime imaginable.

That's the problem with getting as dirty as fast as the Demies did this time around...

I understand that everyone wants the truth to be told about Kerry's dubious military records (especially those of us that have worn a uniform) but wouldn't it be better to shift the public debate to what Kerry hasn't done for the thirty years he's been on the public dole since then?

'On January 26 of this year, Sen. John F. Kerry (D.-Mass.) said of the charges that President Clinton had had an affair with Monica Lewinsky, "I want to believe him." But, Kerry said, Clinton needs to answer "every single question and be as detailed and forthcoming as possible" to survive. Otherwise, Kerry said cryptically, it "gets cloudier and more complicated." '

LOL!

No, all he needed was a willing media to ignore the charges and attack the people making the charges- eh John?

A recent visit to several Barnes & Noble bookstores in my area uncovered the reprehensible fact that a purveyor of the fruits of our right to free speech prominently features books such as "Bushworld: Enter at Your Own Risk," "The Candidate: Behind John Kerry's Remarkable Run for the White House" and "Losing America: Confronting a Reckless and Arrogant Presidency" on their website while not even carrying the books "Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry" and "Reckless Disregard: How Liberal Democrats Undercut Our Military, Endanger Our Soldiers, and Jeopardize Our Society." A visit to barnesandnoble.com revealed the "liberal" books splashed across multiple pages while the "conservative" ones could only be found by doing a search by name.

Democrats and Republicans alike should be frightened at and moved to action against the censorship and fascism of Barnes & Noble Inc. I was under the impression that we did our voting in our election booths, not in our bookstores.

I would love for "everything" to be on the table. Kerry is a seditious ba$tard. Let's put that on the table and talk about the millions of people that were killed after we left VN. False cause and effect? Maybe. But their equations have to be retested too.

Well, let's see. Once you've called a guy a drunken, draft dodging, National Guard-deserting Hitler who lied to the whole country to get us into a war so our soldiers could die for Halliburton to sell more oil drilling equipment, what's left?

.....and Bush is a big doody head.?

It's all they have left.

Meaning they would start?

They've already done 3 periods of GWB's NG. Once in 2000 and twice already this election cycle. They even tried to get media coverage a third time a few weeks ago, and that lead balloon dropped.

They can try to beat that dead horse, but they'd have about as much luck resurrecting the Abu Ghraib dead horse for another couple of weeks.

GOOD! Then Kerry will have to release his military medical records, his divorce records, the tax returns for the Widow Heinz, and the will of former Sen. Heinz. I'm waiting. Bring it on!
