Are you having difficulty finding Unfit for Command locally, for reasons other than the publisher didn't print enough copies?
The thread linked above has numerous examples of book store employees standing in the consumer's way when they try to find this book.
Perhaps if FReepers list their experiences in one place we can see where the bottlenecks are (they seem to be scattered) and take action as appropriate to help the liberals now suppressing sales to see the error of their ways.
mystery1 wrote on the above-linked thread:I live in San Diego and just called 2 Borders stores. I was told they don't have it in stock. When I asked why they wouldn't have a book in stock that was Number 1 on Amazon... I was told by one, that the book had errors in it and had to be sent back for corrections, and the second store told me that the book was pulled due to slander and they would get a revised book in soon.
I asked to speak to the manager in both cases and were told in both cases that they had just reprimanded the employee who told me that story.
After further conversation I was told by one of the managers that they had been getting repeat calls from someone who was saying the book was slanderous and not to sell it.
I have contacted their corporate offices and relayed my experience with their outlets, in a voice mail and asked for a return call.
I also contacted a Barnes and Noble store and was told they didn't have any and they blamed the publisher. I also spoke to the manager of that store and was told they only ordered 5 copies because they didn't expect that there would be that big demand for it.
Once I informed him that it was number on Amazon 2 weeks ago, and surely all stores would have known it was popular way in advance... he had no reply, except to refer me to the website for B&N where I could find contact info for their corporate offices.

I love a good argument. Especially when I'm sure to win. Had I been in a position to pursue it, I know I'd have won. Unfortunately, I had to pass this one up. I'm still grinding my teeth.
I went to purchase the book today and there were absolutely none on display anywhere in the store. So I asked the clerk and woohoo! She produced the book . . . from beneath the counter, hidden away.
I got mine from an innocent little thing at Borders that had no clue I was an evil republican troll.
I told her that I couldn't find it because I didn't have my glasses and could she get it for me, she actually checked her stock in the computer in front of me and knowing I was deaf because I didn't have my glasses mumbled softly that she had a hundred copies in the store, then led me around the store on a fifteen minute wild goose chase until she finally asked the next higher up sales clerk where it was.
He was the spitting image of Michael Moore only without the B.O, but he knew right where the book was, and handed me the only copy on display.
I wonder where the other 99 were?
I just got off the phone with B&N in Irvine...He was real nice, so I'll give him that much.
There's been a "problem with shipping" and if I'd like to put my name on a list, he'd be happy to do that. I did. Two books, I said.
I asked him what the problem was...I could hear him typing. He said they were supposed to get them August 16 but there's been such a great demand for the book, due to the publicity, the publisher didn't expect this. He said they (Regeny...sp) had initially printed 30,000, and now they're printing 62,000!! I said COOL!!! That's GREAT for the publisher and the author!
He actually was nice.....
So. That's my little experience. Think I'll order from Amazon, cuz it'll be cheaper, I'm sure.
My wife called a Books-A-Million in my area (Upstate SC) on Sunday (Aug. 15) and they said they only got one copy in and had already sold it. She asked when they would get more in and they said on Thursday (Aug. 19)--a whopping SIX copies. Duh! I'm ordering from Amazon online.
Then I went to Waldenbooks and got the same answer. The lady at Waldenbooks was very nice and told me she had called all over Springfield this morning, and 'everybody was out.'
On the way home I stopped at Sam's Wholesale and they did not have it. The lady there told me she did not even know if they would get it at all. She said they have no control over what comes in.
I have a small Heritage Bookstore here in my little hometown of 3000 people. The sales clerk told me the book was not out yet. I told her she was misinformed, that it has been out for over a week. She seemed surprised. I did not get the feeling that she was deliberately telling me a lie, I think she truly was misinformed.
My favorite little conservative coffee-shop also has not received its shipment yet. The owner had been told by his book dealer that the book was in its third or fourth printing. So far they had printed 175,000 copies. That does NOT sound like a lot of books. Do they only print 50,000 books at a time?
Sounds like they both drank the sKerry Kool-Aid.
I'm dying to read UFC but probably won't get it here in Korea for at least another month. Anybody here willing to arrange to ship me a copy? (I'll pay for it, of course)
Can you go back to K-Mart and give them the 4 page rebuttal of F9/11? ..Or the 42 page rebuttal..LOL...gosh, this is so frustrating that people will believe all those lies.
Can someone tell me how to spell "Hough Hulit"'s name, the conservative radio host please?
Hugh Hewitt
:-)
thanks

I'm serious about this request.
Have you tried Amazon? I don't know what there turn-around time is on this one.
Anyone???
I shop there periodically. I'll be looking for those guys next time I go in. If I'm alone at the time, they're toast.
OR! Conservative Book Club?
I think that's the name.....Google it, it should be the first one up.
