It depends on what the
meaning of the word 'is' is.

Do you see anything worth stealing in that photo, except maybe the gun?

After Hurricane Andrew, the same thing happened, and the result is described in an old post of mine I'll reproduce here, along with a commentary on the liberal media's cluelessness:
There was so little looting that even the notoriously anti-gun NPR ran a story on the situation. The reporter described, in awed tones, how homeowners were actually using their *own* guns to protect their *own* property and families and neighborhoods, and as a result the looting and lawlessness that occurred immediately after the hurricane had dropped to almost nil, despite the fact that the areas were still cut off from protection by area law enforcement. The overall tone of the story was that this was some kind of bizarre once-in-a-lifetime miracle, and that the concept had never occurred to them before.

Hank, hurricanes have a nasty habit of making the most well-kept homes with their manicured lawns look a bit messy. His possessions are his possessions...so looters shouldn't be surprised to get some lead in their butts if they visit toting pillowcases...

I have no doubts, when another hurricane hits my area, and it will, hubby and I will take turns, sitting on lawn chairs in front of whatever is left of my home, with the shotgun, handguns and rottweiller begging people to try and loot us.

I was one of those armed home owners in Hurricane Andrew. My neighbor came over the next day and handed me a fully loaded 9mm and asked if I knew how to use it. As it was, I did, even though I did not own a handgun myself (I had learned to shoot my friends similar 9mm at a local gun range). So he loaned me his gun for a few months, and we posted such signs around our neighborhood. Most of the other neighbors were armed as well. We NEVER had a single incident of looting, and that was even with the several days we had NO contact with anyone from the outside, when looting could have been bad, before the national guard got there.
Local news reported that two would be looters got killed by locals, one had been shot in the face. When this word got out I think it stopped most others cold.

We had a home in Navarre, FL when Opal hit in 1995. Not too much damage in our area but we had a lot of "visitors".
We were still without power when the wife mentioned that a pickup truck with out-of-state plates kept slowly cruising through the neighborhood. I went out on the porch with my rifle and very ostentatiously began "cleaning" it. After another pass when I changed looks with the driver, the truck disappeared.

In case anyone doesn't know better; writing "killed" in a warning-sign like this is a very very bad idea.
If this guy were to kill anyone, he'd be charged with murder, bet on it.
The "will be killed" denotes an intent/desire to kill - and that insures a charge of murder.
Much better to write something like "property defended with firearms."
This guy does have the right to defend himself and his family with a firearm; but definitely does Not have the right to "kill treaspassers."

Actually, I threw that image link onto the page to see which link it was. Then I hit "post" instead of "edit". This thread was supposed to have some other shots of the guy.
