John O'Neill To Be On Hardball Tonight
Hardball | 8/12/04 | Chris Matthews

Posted on 08/12/2004 4:04:32 PM PDT by pookie18

Since O'Neill will be the guest, I'm sure it will be "hardball". However, after what he encountered on Crossfire with Carvile (sic) & Leapin' Lanny Davis, this'll probably feel like a walk in the park...

McGreevey may have had a sexual harassment suit filed against him today by the man he had the relationship with.

ABC was reporting that earlier.

The election laws in Jersey have something to do with it.
They don't think McGreevey will get re-elected. So they are trying to pull another Lautenberg, possibly.

THEN there is the possibility that they are trying to take attention away from Kerry getting busted in his Vietnam lies.

and supported John Edwards in the most recent nomination process within the Democrat party.

I wouldn't care if O'Neill supported a Martian, as long as he knows the truth and the difference between good and evil.

Matthews tells O'Neill to compare Kerry to Bush's service in Vietnam.

Lord.

He tells O'Neill he's a Republican from Texas.

Well, case closed!

Aha! O'Neill says "I'm not a Republican from Texas. That simply is not true" (John, after this, you SHOULD BE).

Chris after O'Neill explains more says "So that's why you're mad at him", like this is all personal spite.

I give you all a lot of credit for subjecting yourselves to Chrissy -- I haven't watched him in almost a year. My blood pressure is much better. BTW, I ordered O'Neill's book - can't wait to read it.

it's a waste of O'Neill's time to be in those bastard shows! They don't want to hear the truth because they CAN'T HANDLE the truth!!

O'Neill is worth it.

Chris is so silly when he acts like he has facts when he does not and refuses at first blush to be swayed.

Hurley feels for the first time in days that he has the upper hand and is in friendly territory and sounds stronger.

O'Neill responds with more facts...

He's not on those shows for them - he's on those shows for us.

McGreevey wasn't up for reelection this year. If he resigns before election, the dem-appointed replacement faces this year's election. Resigning after the election gives the replacement a year to serve (up until next year's election) without having to run..

I'm not sure I can last much longer hearing Mathews interrupt O'Neil. At one point O'Neil says he'll answer if "you'll get me a chance." Fat chance w/Chrissie.

I've noticed how the National Guard B.S. story keeps coming up with this, Alan Colmes and others forever are saying "does Bush really want to compare what the 2 men were doing 35 years ago?" I say - YES we do!!!

Exactly.

Now I think Hurley sounds more rattled---though if I were on his side I could call it righteous indignation (except he does not have the facts on his side).

Hurley was pointing his finger at the book and calling it lies and shabby journalism.

O'Neill calmly answers Hurley's assertions.

Cyncooper,
Did you see Carville and Davis lose it today on Crossfire?

O'Neill held strong.

O'Neill (about Hurley): "He just called the second in command of the Judge Advocate General a liar." :-)

Notice how when O'Neill was answering Matthews cut him off and said we have two more purple hearts to discuss.Matthews is such a joke!

God bless John O'Neill. Crissy keeps cutting him off and then says he'll give him all the time he needs to answer, then cuts him off again. Let's Hurley lie on unchallenged. Disgusting. O'Neill is a saint.
