In advance of the GOP convention at the end of this month, New York City is being plastered with stickers that read, "I'm Gonna Kill the President" - supposedly an advertisement for a new off-Broadway play staged by the anti-war protest group United for Peace and Justice.
"It's the name of a new comedy to run in the East Village during the Republican Convention," WABC Radio's George Weber reported Tuesday morning.
Weber called the box office to find out what could be funny about the murder of an American president, and got this recorded response:
"Howdy," chirped a spokesman. "You've reached the information and instruction hotline for, 'I'm Gonna Kill the President - a Federal Offense."
The unidentified voice goes on to explain that that the play is the story of a young man's plot to kidnap the president in hopes of sparking a revolution that installs a puppet Democracy - featuring real puppets.
The play also includes an audience participation segment where theater-goers are supposed to crank call the White House to demand that President Bush end the war in Iraq.
"If you're some kind of law enforcement agent or official, hang up now," the information hotline concludes. "There's nothing illegal happening here. Just some old-fashioned, constitutionally sanctioned fun."
After Weber's report, WABC's "Curtis & Kuby Show" was deluged with callers outraged over the radical thespian stunt.
Even Communist lawyer-turned-commentator Ron Kuby sounded irked, explaining, "Generally speaking, you cannot directly threaten the president's life." While the play might be "on proper side of the first amendment," he said, "it's not by much."
"Reminds me of the hate that existed with the Bolsheviks when they took over Russia"
You hit the nail on the head. The goal is to drum up so much hatred that it causes the "pawns" (ie DUers, etc) to rise up. What will that be? Liberals are already engaging in Eco Terrorism....why not help Al Queda? John Walker Lindh did!
"Never EVER underestimate just how far the left will go"
The ends *always* justify the means with these psychotic scumbags.
Paging the Secret Service! Paging the Secret Service!
I do not know either.....
We can detain a terrorist for taking a picture yet we can't do a damn thing about open sedition.
Almost time.......

This incredible situation was started and created during the 1960's/70's when the liberals and the mediots made hating America, our military and our culture the in thing.
I just called the Info #: 1-212-802-7446. I got a long-winded message about the play, and showtimes, and found out that delegates to the convention can get in free with ID! However, the location of the theater is a secret- You have to go to 10th St., between Aves. A&B at least 30 minutes before show time, and "Make sure you're not being followed." At that point, I suppose they'l take tyou to the theater.
What a bunch of morons.

Thanks for posting that great poster from WWII.
What is satirical about a sticker that says "Kill the President?"
The only satire is revealed should one visit the play, akin to defending a threat made out loud by stating that you explained that it was satire on your computer at home.
Jail these traitors. [Of course had we had a RAT president, anyone even insinuating death would have been rounded up and had the IRS "sikked" on them at the very least]
HUA !
Funded by the Tides Foundation, funded by Teresa's Heinz foundation fortune.
Its one thing that the libs are filled with hate and will tell any lie to win (a la Michael Goebbels Moore) but threats, veiled or not against the president are unacceptable.
They need a visit from the secret service or the FBI to shut this Sh&t down, now

That location is the north side of Tompkins Square Park, the site of some of most notorious (and ridiculous) anti-everything exhibitions in NYC. It seems every loser from fly-over country who finds his way to the Apple and then slips between the cracks into the cesspool of Marxism/Anarchy/Drugs that collects under the city ends up there sooner or later. It would be hard to find a more offensive but less effective bunch of fringe dwellers anywhere else in the country.
Bull. United for Peace and Justice is affiliated with Peaceful Tommorrow, both funded by Teresa and virulently anti-bush. THIS is your party's definition of "civility"
WE in the EEEEVEEEEL VRWC of Hillary's paranoid fantasies never wished Clinton dead, nor did we ever plaster death threats os death wishes in public or on the internet.
The sticker says "I'm Gonna Kill the President". You left out the first two words to make it sound like an order, which it is not.
Either way, they are treading very thin ground. But I'll always defend the 1st Amendment. Putting on a farcical play about someone who wants to kill the president is not treason, just like owning a gun that could potentially kill the president isn't (and shouldn't be) illegal.
Guns don't kill people. Words don't kill people.
Ah, yes. Time for some NYC Freepers to have some fun at these idiots' expense.
(1) Have a bunch of other FReepers in concealment near the intended meeting site. They should be wearing dark blue windbreakers with "DHS" in big yellow letters.
(2) Have a FReeper sneak in to the crowd.
(3) At a prearranged signal, the windbreaker-clad FReepers break concealment and advance rapidly on the crowd.
(4) The FReeper in the crowd then screams, "OH, S**T, IT'S HOMELAND SECURITY! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!"
I don't understand your post. Are you saying that the play didn't open last Fall?
Civil War is coming to the USA
I strongly agree. Where I work, the division between left and right is growing deeper all the time. There are many more arguments between co-workers about politics and some hateful things said. Personally, I don't want any RAT's around me. They make me sick. I wish I could work in a place with only conservatives.
