MOSCOW: Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov said Sunday that Russia and the United States are no longer enemies but are not yet allies, a comment that reflected persistent differences despite the major improvement of relations between the former Cold War foes since the Soviet collapse.

Interesting observation. A couple bandits accosted a couple in South America about 4 years ago. Dumb move. The guy in the car was an Olympic speed shooter. The bandits died of shots through the eye with a .22 cal pistol.
Which is why the best trained assassins like those in MOSSAD use a .22 with a small "Hushpuppy" aka "can" aka suppressor hung on the end. Okay, you're accurate at the range when you have all the time in the world to aim and there's no stress.
But do the same thing under a time constraint of drawing and firing the weapon from a concealed holster within 2 seconds including the draw, against a target 15 feet away. Can you hit the eyeball everytime? Next do it while somebody also sounds a shrill whistle in your ear or drops a string of firecrackers behind you without your foreknowledge of the event.
It's easy on the range, but when it's life and death maybe the deaths of somebody you love a whole lot...well you just want all the stopping power you can find and shoot to center mass all the time. That translates down to a .45.
