While certainly not limited to the 20-30 something crowd, viewers of South Park tend to be the latchkey offspring of the infamous Baby Boomers. These children of MTV and video games have extremely limited attention spans and as a result are always moving from one experience to the next in hopes of finding fulfillment. Unfortunately, all they are finding in South Park is a wasteland.
That works too.
ROTFLMBO!
Yep.
How 'bout we ban Matlock?
Well, since I don't watch Family Guy, I didn't catch that...
Well, the problem is, most people in this country appear to not want such things. If they did, all of the network channels and more of the cable channels would be like the Hallmark or Family channels. Executives have a choice - make a lot of money putting out raunchy/adult subject matter, or get stuck working on the Hallmark movie of the week making a tenth of the money. Last I checked, Hallmark's movie of the week wasn't bringing in millions per thirty second spot (okay, I'll admit it, I never looked into Hallmark's or Family Channel's advertising rates).
I'm not defending their decisions on some of the topics South Park has covered, nor am I saying they are simply doing it for the money (although there is nothing wrong with going after the money, this is American after all), nor is it trash. I am, in fact, glad that South Park exists. Not because it's funny (although it certainly is), but because it fills a niche that few other shows do - ridiculing all aspects of American society to the extreme (especially the liberal aspects). Sometimes people need to see things mocked to the extreme before understanding just how bad they really are.
Hey, your fire needs to be more selective. Real religious conservatives couldn't care less if South Park is on.
I think he's pulling our legs, but it's hard to say - some people try to call themselves Conservatives and yet are some of the biggest proponents of censorship (as long as they get to decide what is censored). Joe Lieberman gets a lot of support from people calling themselves Conservatives. He wouldn't pull the old "we need the government to monitor what comes out of Hollywood and the video game companies" spiel out if it didn't appeal to somebody.
He reminds me more of Stan's grandpa.
Any regrets about your post yet?
Three words.
Get over yourself.
(sheesh...)
"having an affair with your teacher, etc... to be far worse"
I just found out that a classmate of mine back in the 1960s actually had sex with our history teacher in 10th grade. I am still trying to get over that one. She was pretty and popular and a cheerleader. I thought you had to be a GOOD girl back then........ Geez, was I ever wrong!?!?!?!?!
Dude, you got post #69. You are my hero.
Sorry, Mr. silverback.
I really didn't mean to slander all religious conservatives. I am both a conservative (Duh!- and a Freeper) and a Christian myself, who believes in salvation through the love and redemption provided by the Lord Jesus Christ.
However, I am virulently opposed to the FCC, The Moral Majority, O.C., and every pseudo-conservative who betrays the notion of individual liberty by supporting the censorship in entertainment of whatever topics/content THEY deem to be immoral, rude, etc.
I am so sick of the "do it for the children!" attitude many otherwise-intelligent conservatives use to further their censorship policy. Geesh! Don't these guys know that's the same bogus arguments the socialists use to push their destructive hogwash agenda (hillary's commie health care, etc.)? You think these Fallwell types would at least find a new talking point.
Bwahahahaha! Your killin' me!
Gah. I'm such a bad monkey.
Really, the only show on television that consistently presents a libertarian point of view. Why do you think the cultural collectivists hate it so much?

First there was a thread about "Scrabble", and now this.
Slow day....................
1) Spain would become a cool place to live.
2) All the socialists and hard-core Muslims there would move (to OC's back yard?).
3) France would surrender.

Actually, Lineral is the correct usage since Liberal is a direct derivative of Urinal, so you are incorrect in deriding what you assume is a spelling error.
