Do you forget that the Cheney's had maintained property in Wyoming all along? He had to be in Texas because of his job at Haliburton. It's not at all the same thing. Bush made the choice and only a Constitutional requirement caused the move. That case's hardly parity with Hillary.
The state was already a lock for Kerry. Perhaps this changes the dynamic. It certainly makes things more interesting.
Alan was one of the first to endorse the President in this election cycle, and has never swerved from that support.

Illinois was locked up for Kerry long ago. If Kerry loses Illinois, than he will be losing everything outside of New England, New York, DC, New York, and maybe Maryland and Hawaii. As Illinois goes, so goes California. You can write that down.
You are overly confident of the voter fraud machine in Chicago not breaking down this election. Don't count your chickens before they hatch. If nothing else Keyes forces the RATS top spend resources where they didn't want to. It's a win-win for the GOP.
Look, I know you guys may not like Keyes or Keyes supporters that much, but please consider putting aside our differences for this one.

Maybe I'm way off here, but where I live, calling someone the finest VP in 100 years and arguing that he was morally right to do what he did is not a smear or an attack. It is an affirmation of what happened and a ringing endorsement for the ONLY prime-time speaker at the 2000 convention who correctly labeled the U.S. a republic. God bless him, and make tons more of him.

Never said it was parity. I just pointed out that no one cares about it at the presidential and senatorial level.

I did. I also saw him on tape, as late as this afternoon, say that he is still bothered by the Federalist implications of him running in Illinois.
So, even Keyes himself recognizes he's backing down from a very strong previous stance.
I'm actually MORE impressed that he's not just blatantly ignoring his previous comments but recognizes the implications. How unlike a typical politician to admit that even though he's doing what he feels is a necessary thing, he's troubled by the implications.

Seriously. President Bush won't win Illinois with or without Keyes. The problem is that for some Keyes will be a laughing stock...while on the other hand he may generate some life in the Republicans so that the electoral votes won't be given away free...but gone they are and the President should spend more time AND MONEY in Wisconsin, Ohio and Pennsylvania where he stands a good chance.
As you know I prefer a Democrat Senate and House anyway, but still want President Bush in the White House. Making a joint appearance with Keyes would be the kiss of death in Wisconsin...Illinois does not matter. To Bush/Cheney.

In any case, I do know what I'm talking about. And I bet you Obama beats Keyes.
Even Republicans I know admit Obama gave a great speech at the convention and is a rising star in politics. Keyes has very little charisma or appeal to voters. He will lose.
