Actress Sharon Stone says a puritanical streak running through America created by President Bush prevented her from kissing Halle Berry in the newly released film "Catwoman."
Stone, 46, wanted to enjoy a lesbian moment with her co-star, but the current conservative climate in the country just wouldn't allow it, she concluded, according to Ireland Online.
"Halle's so beautiful and I wanted to kiss her. I said, 'How can you have us in the movie and not have us kiss? That's such a waste,'" said Stone.
"That's what you get for having George Bush as president."
The movie has been universally panned. Miami Herald reviewer Connie Ogle said: "Catwoman doesn't belong on the big screen. It belongs in the litter box or to be scraped off the bottom of our shoes as we head quickly for another theater."
Stone was among the Hollywood luminaries in attendance at the Los Angeles premiere of Michael Moore's anti-Bush film "Fahrenheit 9/11."
the teaser info made it look like it might be a good brainless-fun pic, but the reviews have been brutal.
as i don't generally trust professional reviewers, I was relying on Scourge to gimme the 411.
looks like he hated it.
so I'm not gonna waste my money.
Is anybody else getting really sick of seeing queers slobbering all over each other whenever you turn on the TV? There is less and less that is fit to watch. I often think about my grandma and great-grandma who would flip the television off at the slightest indication of what they considered to be impropriety and cannot even imagine how horrified they would be at the plunge into decadence that our country has taken. It is shameful and disgusting, and no amount of political correcetness or legal acceptability of perverse behavior is going to change that.
An unbelievably bizarre comment from Ms. Stone, a heterosexual.
Heterosexual women beautiful or otherwise, commonly encounter and work with other heterosexual beautiful women. The last thing on their minds is kissing them.
As usual Sharon is succumbing to Hollywood chic. It isn't the first time.
Once again, liberals are blaming Bush for the results of their own incompetence.
It's something that might be worth watching if it came up on cable, but I wouldn't suggest actually going out and seeing Catwoman.
I'll be saving my money for the biopic of Thanos.
looks like she just did
I agree with you 100%! My great-grandmother was disgusted with some of what they were showing on TV in the mid-1960's...extremely tame fare compared with today. So many parts of our culture have truly sunk to the bottom of the pit!
