The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

I am sure there must be a word in Arabic for GOD in Arabic that is not related to the MOON god which is pagan worship.

Allah means "God" as in the "One and only" in Arabic. There is absolutely no reference to him being a moon God in the language. Whether he is or not, that's up to you, but there is no other word for “the God” in Arabic. Most Arabs were pagans before Islam coalesced after Muhammad created the religion. The Kab'ah (big black box in Mecca) used to be filled with Pagan idols that the Arabs worshipped; they were destroyed after the Qur'an was written.

It's a wonder they didn't have film crews at the ready.

I suppose ABC hadn't yet caught on to the al jazeera tactic of just happening to be around when attacks against the US in Iraq take place.

You certainly sound like a very kind, thoughtful person to me, but the key to your 'problem' might just be exactly what you said; 'based on what I learned in college' and that would give you nothing but a sanitized PC version of islam. (one of the great middle eastern religions etc.)

No reading of the koran or the numerous volumes of hadith of which there are more than 60 volumes, will teach you what you need to know about islam.

To understand this belief system one must know of the life of the 'prophet' and how the 'revelations' came about. The young mohammad was a vagrant who spent much time on the temple steps gaining knowledge of monotheism from Hebrew wise men. When driven out by the townsfolk, he and his small band of beggars found shelter in a village of Jews, where further knowledge was gained of Hebrew scripture.

Mohammad 'tailored' the God of Israel to suit his own ends, in his quest for power. Allah speaks with mohammad's voice because mohammad is allah, whose voice he heard in his head (mohammad said!)

Don't you think it's strange that very few muslims even know of the existence of a biography of their 'prophet'? And are certainly not encouraged to read it. (Most don't read the koran, either.)

Please read the biography of the 'prophet'...discover how and when and why the 'revelations' came about. Neither God nor allah or even the devil had anything to do with it. Mohammad was a cunning and extremely cruel creature who was abandoned by his mother and suffered from epilepsy plus numerous chiziod episodes. Were he alive today, he would probably be medicated and locked up.

For pdf download see my tagline. Now there's a true 'REVELATION'.

Our posts can be downright deceiving and make us cringe because after we post them we more easily see how they can be taken the wrong way sometimes.

That's one of the reasons I would support an "edit" function. We always see our posts better once they are posted.

An edit function would be wonderful, one of the things FR lacks that would be of great use.

No one will give us a real translation. All we got was a round about slam at the Evangelical Christians and something about the stadium being a mosque (hilarious isn't it!). I think it must contain something. I am going to find someone I know to give me a real translation.

I have no doubt that what I have been taught in a Liberal college by Muslim teachers is slightly misleading. I have done a fair amount of reading on my own on the subject as well, also likely slightly biased. I

I do not really even buy into Islam being a true religion as a whole (most of the concepts were stolen from Christianity and Judaism and retooled by Muhammad to fit his needs IMO). I know that he learned a great deal about the other Abrahamic religions in his travels as a merchant throughout the Arabian peninsula and ME.

I will take a look at the PDF, thanks.

I last heard that we put out contracts for more ammunition a few months ago. I am sorry to hear that the U.S. firms definitely cannot meet the demand fast enough. Folks were worried about that. Well, I hope we only reach out to suppliers based in one of the few remaining "friendly" nations. China, Russia, France, Germany, etc., need not apply.

The main title says what the other person stated it says.

As far as the rest, I can only pick out several words here and there... they are all quite benign, in and of themselves. In my first year of studying Arabic, we have focused mostly on words that are used quite often; country names, prounouns, adjectives, some governmental offices, etc. I do not know enough just yet to translate a big document, hopefully I will be able to in another year...

Sounds like my family, I suppose I would be one of the smaller ones... That is, if my father still practiced Judaism. I must say, my mother has brought him to Jesus (it's almost like he was born a Christian). :)

It's certainly possible that Allah is a Moon god, if there really is an "allah." Like I said earlier, I am unconvinced that Islam is a true religion... it all originated from the knowledge of one man. The other terms describe allah, but allah itself is still the true word for "god."
