"Kerry = PIG IN A POKE.......Elect me, and THEN I'll tell you what you voted for."
I just thought of something similar...though someone upthread commented that it was like Hitler...the whole "Star Wars" prequel track.
Senator Palpatine seemed harmless enough on the surface...was a Senator (similarities?), Amidala was on his side (like Leftist Natalie Portman is on Flurch's side), there ws a benevolent leader in place (Terence Stamp's Chancellor Valorum), but it was clear that Palpatine wanted power (as does Flipper).
Now, of course, any Star Wars fan (at least one who read the Return of the Jedi novelization from 1983) knows that Senator Palpatine and the Galactic Emperor are the same person. In fact, it's the same actor who plays Palpatine/Darth Sidious now, who played the Emperor in ROTJ 21 years ago...Ian McDiarmid, a good actor).
It said in the book that there was indeed a time of peace, with Jedi Knights (soldiers) protecting the galaxy. Corruption and laziness started to set in, and Palpatine took advantage of it. (BTW, if laziness sets in with us, Darth Kerry could very well turn into...)
I know that, compared with the original three films, the first two are severely lacking, but I do find the parallels interesting. Palpatine convinces Amidala that he is the better person to lead the Republic, than Chancellor Valorum (just like Leftist Portman believes that Kerry is better suited to lead America, than is President Bush).
Palpatine is chosen to lead the Republic (at least that's what the sheeple think), while his other self, Darth Sidious, is trying to destroy the Republic...with the help of an inarticulate, devilish looking sidekick named Howard Dean (oops, sorry...Darth Maul...).
Well, of course, Darth Dean gets sabered in the Galactic Primary, and all the while, Palpatine is still plotting how to take over the universe. He decides to "mentor" a young silky pony, a person with bad hair, a bad accent, and a bad actor (of course, Anakin Skywalker didn't have a father, but if he had, would Anakin have talked about how much his dad worked in a meeel? Developing...)
Hey, there may be nothing to this, other than proving that I need not post until after having breakfast, but I did think, what did Palpatine REALLY say, before he was granted his wide-ranging powers (which he promptly corrupted)?
"I will not let our people suffer."
"The Chancellor has little real power...he is mired in BASELESS accusations of corruption..."
"Your Majesty, if I am elected, I will put an end to corruption..." (HOW???????)
"I think that our situation will generate a strong sympathy vote in the Senate ("I served in Vietnam..."). I will be Chancellor."
"Together, we will bring peace and prosperity to the Republic." (Killing Jedi, blowing up planets...some peace.)
"I will not let this Republic, which has stood for over a thousand years (USA, since 1776), be split in two! My negotiations will not fail."
Palpatine never said what he would do. Very likely, neither did Hitler. Neither has Kerry. I see a pattern.
Personally, I would be very glad to know that, horrible as he was, Hitler is now long since dead, and "Star Wars" is just a movie. I would prefer that the dead, and the type, do not (again) become reality.

I'm not throwing in the towel by any means, I still predict a Bush win. But its close, very close, alot closer then it should be.
also understand, I'm in NYC metro area, so I really see a bad cross section of the electorate - but those jerks are americans too.
"I'm not a pessimist at all, just overwhelmed at times by the "evil" that is the Democratic party".
I know your anguish, my sister American; I too feel the effects of evil in this race.
When I feel dejected, I open my Bible and read. Anyplace... it matters not. HE will speak to you, and HE will sooth your worry! Have faith! President Bush will win, because a loss is not an option we can survive.

Mary Matlin got in some good points but she really had to work them in, she's a pro.
Kerry and Edwards on ABC with 'Stephy... What small retail business did skerry open as stated on national tv? I would like to know what it is and if it is still in business?
Matlin is coming up. I will be sure to listen in.
"Biden says Kerry has steel in his backbone. LOL"

Someone get ebiskit the thread on Kerry's cookie company. It's a riot. They were not pumpking spice.
Where is Matlin speaking?
Tim Russert really had the long knives out for Zell Miller and couldn't even touch him!
Steffie's program which is, I think, ABC.
thanx...
Has anyone ever thought that the Euroweenies don't have the military TO SEND? Because Uncle Sugar has always offered the security umbrella, they have neglected their own military capabilities. All of their money goes to fund their socialist societies and welfare state. Kerry could get NOTHING from them because they have nothing to give.
Cookies, it was a cookie business.
Hah, Mary Matlin is a Republican weapon of mass destruction.
I heard all the crust is neatly trimmed off, is that right?
