I think they're doing this on purpose. Remember, they already have the die-hards in their pocket. The entire point of this whole charade is to get the people in the middle. Kerry's mission for tonight is to look like a less-imposing Bush, or Bush-Lite. Same taste, half the carbs Bush. They're going for every subliminal influence they can get.
