Those wascally wepublicans engineered this whole thing to upstage the rat convention.

Surely you've seen the b-roll (stock footage) of him standing watching the military parade with a rifle in one hand and a cigar in the other, firing it off into the air. 140 times in a row. That's astonishing. I always wondered how many innocent Baghdadis were killed by Saddam's stray bullets. I'm sure the families would have been told that they had been honored to have a family member killed by a bullet from the gun of Al-Hussein, the reincarnation of Nebuchadnezzar.

If this is true, I hope we do all possible to keep him alive. Perfect prison for the immoral SOB.
May he live to 120 without any ability to communicate or move!

I think I'll wait for confirmation from someone a little more reliable before I believe this... Me, too.
I just did a search on Google and only found a news report from 2001 where Saddam allegedly suffered a "stroke."
Maybe the newbie read it for the first time and thought it was recent. Or maybe....hmmmmmmmmm.

since you are a newbie (member since 7/28) do you have a source other than hearing it on al Jazeera?? What's wrong with that network? They're politically aligned with the great US Networks.

Another major player in the oil-for-food scam could bite the dust. Don't let Kofi in there for a visit...Saddam will be gonners for sure...pushing up poppies.

Good, now if it can be followed by a heart attack, a lot of people will be save from more misery.

Its probably not as bad as being tossed into a plastic shredder feet first. YES!!!
Please, please let there be perpetual postings like this before the world starts feeling sorry for the "poor old man."
Better yet, photos of his atrocities, plastering the news.
I sooo want to believe this story. I hope it's not a ruse.

Ah the joys of modern medicine, maybe we can keep him in stasis until they hang him.
Wonder if he signed a donor card?

The hateful (fill in your choice of expletives here) at DU are having a field day with this little tidbit of news. How does anyone get so stoopid? And, don't these folks have jobs to go to?
