WHERE WAS BUSH DURING VIETNAM?

Posted on 07/28/2004 11:41:53 AM PDT by sirwarlok069

BUSH: "The Missing Year" written by senior editor of GQ magazine Jason Gay.

This article appears in the August 2004 edition of GQ magazine, will put the end to the myth of Bush's National Guard Tour of Duty. After reading this article you will decide who the real hero is. Jason Gay did an eight month thorough background research to substantiate the material before publishing this article. Every one knows that GQ is so far to the left that it makes the leaning tower of Pisa appear straight.

spin generator.

just in time for the RNC convention.

I bet Bush spent more than 4 months flying fighter jets.

Where was Bush during Vietnam?

He spent several years flying a notoriously dangerous fighter in order to protect the citizens living in cities in continental United States from Soviet nuclear bombers that were making repeated incursions in our domestic airspace.

Just another aspect of Cold War.

"possibly the Geneva Convention in going after and killing an already wounded Viet Cong soldier. "

If he did that, then he was actually doing the right thing. To hell with the VC and the Geneva Convention. Kill 'em all.

Isn't that Kerry/Nam pic the same pose as the famous Bigfoot photo?

Hmmm since you mentioned it, it sure looks that way. *L*

A FEW THOUSAND Air National Guardsmen served in Vietnam with about a quarter of that number that were pilots. I believe some 30 PILOTS lost their lives in Vietnam. How can anyone say to those who served and those who lost their lives, "YOU JOINED to DODGE THE DRAFT and get out of combat." The thought leaves me cold.

However leave it to a GIMMIE to compare AIR NATIONAL GUARD and National Guard duty to be the same as X42's draft dodging masterpiece.

This brings up a related question: Other than the very few months he was in uniform in Vietnam, where was John Kerry during the Vietnam War?

I have always thought that Kerry's lumbering slo mo Vietnam jungle re enactments made him look like Sasquatch's body double in the Patterson- Gimlin film.
Except Sasquatch looks more realistic.

Training to be a fighter pilot is no easy task. It requires a great deal of education and ability. Piloting a boat is child's play compared to flying a plane, especially a complicate aircraft such as the military has. Training in the National Guard is no different than in the regular military. And remember, most National Guard are usually called up as needed. Kerry was just trying to find a way to get in and get out for good. He's is more of a dodger than President Bush.

Oh my...you ain't seen nuthin' yet...look what I found this morning...

Thomas Wright was one of John F. Kerry's fellow Swift boat officers in Vietnam. Since Wright outranked Kerry, he was Kerry's sometime boat group Officer-in-Charge, so Wright had occasion to observe Kerry’s behavior and attitudes, and the circumstances surrounding his early departure from the war zone. The intervening years have not dimmed his memories.

“I had a lot of trouble getting him to follow orders,” recalls Wright. “He had a different view of leadership and operations. Those of us with direct experience working with Kerry found him difficult and oriented towards his personal, rather than unit goals and objectives. I believed that overall responsibility rested squarely on the shoulders of the OIC or OTC in a free-fire zone. You had to be right (before opening fire). Kerry seemed to believe there were no rules in a free-fire zone and you were supposed to kill anyone. I didn’t see it that way.”

It got to a point where Wright told his divisional commander he no longer wanted Kerry in his boat group, so he was re-assigned to another one. “I had an idea of his actions but didn’t have to be responsible for him.” Then Wright and like-minded boat officers took matters into their own hands. “When he got his third Purple Heart, three of us told him to leave. We knew how the system worked and we didn’t want him in Coastal Division 11. Kerry didn’t manipulate the system, we did.”

Source

So...after Hibbard (Kerry's CO) turned Kerry down for the PH, Wright and the other officers had Kerry transferred, where he asked his new CO for the PH. Then Wright and the officers pushed for the PH just to get Kerry the hell out of there.

The 10-page article is on the GQ website.

IT ACTUALLY SUPPORTS BUSH IT APPEARS!!!!!!!

Keep in mind I have not read it...will do that later when I get back home...but this sentence is interesting:

"But an eight-month investigation by GQ has yielded a stunningly different portrait of Bush's "missing year." This magazine's findings contradict allegations that Bush avoided military service but also explain why the president has remained vague about his activities during those twelve months."
