The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.
"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."
We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

I didn't post a link to this in my news site because I just coulnd't find anything new in these 2 areas or specific or anything really on those links of interest.
That can be good news or bad news,
I don't know.

I would call that soliciting to FR members - wouldn't you?I hear what your saying and yes, its clearly a solicitation. Regardless, I'm going to let it ride -- for now. Like I said in my initial post, I'm not one to run to the Moderators or JR to solve problems that we should be able to solve ourselves. I publically posted the private solicitation, and if the Mods or JR want to act on their own they're certainly free to do so. My thanks to the many who offered advice.

WASHINGTON - Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge is considering stepping down after the November election, telling colleagues he is worn out from the massive reorganization of government and needs to earn money in the private sector to put his teenage children through college, officials said.
Ridge will not make a final decision until he talks to President Bush (news - web sites) later this year and is focused on thwarting the terror attacks that officials fear al-Qaida will attempt before November, Assistant Homeland Secretary Susan Neely said.

The program about terror attacks on U.K television was quite interesting. It's the first of a series apparantly.
It was presented by an ex S.A.S survival expert. They simulated 3 scenarios occurring simultaneously.
1.) A dirty bomb in a Manchester shopping center.
2.) Dispersal of anthrax over London during a marathon and
3.) Anthrax being mixed with cocaine and sold to drug users in London.
I had never thought of scenario 3 before. That would be a very easy way to spread something like anthrax.
It gave really useful information like experiences of what it is like to be in an area when an explosive device goes off, how it affects your senses and what to do to help injured people.
The one thing I particularly took away from it was that when you are sent through a decontamination unit after being exposed to radiological or chemical agents, don't be rushed by TPTB. They will want to process as many people as quickly as possible but by not decontaminating properly you may suffer long term damage.

On TM, we always think on the dark side first, don't we?! Maybe the AP story is not true (awhile back, Rummy was supposed to resign also). Or maybe Tom Ridge is looking for an affirmation from GWB that GWB will want Ridge to remain in his post in a new term, especially with all the talk of a new intelligence czar and all. Or maybe the intense pressure has indeed taken its toll on Tom and/or he wants to cover his bread and butter making arse with some carrer offers pending the November elections results.

I do live ten miles from Manchester, considered the U.K's second city. We have an escape plan. If anything radiological happened, it would depend which way the wind is blowing.
