I couldn't find one, so I started one.
Yes it would be a mistake. It adds one more layer of red tape to the already bottomless bureaucracy and solves nothing, because 'super terrorism czar' would be just as subject to human error and bias as any other human being.
They're hyping it to protect the intelligence committee, which did NOT do it's job.
What?!?! Oh please...for what purpose? That's a disheartening thought...but surely Congress would have to approve their re-convening? Or are they going off on their own? Their work is done, and they nearly destroyed the usefulness of it the first time, what with the antics of Ben Veniste and Gorelick's clear conflict of interest...
They really need to just ride off into the sunset, and let the report speak for itself.
Kerry said he didn't really have time to get a full briefing, because of his scheduled speech to the Urban League...and I must say, he didn't even read his "prepared remarks" very well at the "press conference". I can see he feels this is very important, and has a good grasp of the facts...not!
(that could be an interesting "pointer" as to how he'll fare in the debates...if they really are debates and not pre-planned questions and boilerplate responses, he'll tank!!)
Instead, they're going on a book tour. Reminds me of a Clinton or two.
That is in keeping with last fall's leaked Dem strategy memo.
He's banking on electorate ignorance....
Not to mention, what if he/she were a "Manchurian Candidate"?? It's not just a new layer of beaurocratic disorganization that's problematical...I don't see how we can possibly risk vesting all that power and control in one individual.
Speaking of "disorganization"...
They're hyping it to protect the intelligence committee, which did NOT do it's job.
True, and yet nevertheless the Commission wants to strengthen and increase Congressional oversight?? We're in big trouble if the Dem's regain the majority and we have folks like Leahy in charge of determining CIA policy...exactly how we got here in the first place!!
Problematical?
Failure of Imagination, eh? Einstein warned us of that.
Useless bunch of hacks!
They will cover it through next Wednesday with in-depth pieces....then it will drop from the radar
I am reading this report page by page, front to back, and came across something interesting at the top of page 56.
"But Bin Laden and his comrades had their own sources of support and training, and they recieved little or no assistance from the United States."
Kinda blows away the left's oft-repeated claim that we created and funded Bin Ladin. The report also admits that Bin Laden was an Afghan Arab, not mujahadeen like the left says.
I return to the report. So far it is rather accurate.
This commission and it's report are DOA.
There is not one credible or constructive thing about it's info or it's recommendations.
It is truly a national disgrace.
The victims of 911 deserve better.
Kerrey is a traitor.
Top of page 79 contains a whopper. Evidently, every FBI agent and every federal prosecutor misunderstood poor Jamie Gorelick's 'wall' memo.
Not Jamie's fault, of course. Everybody else was just too dumb to comprehend the nuances of the musings of Jamie. </sarcasm dripping/>
Could be, could be.....but here's
the answer: Rush said the report
SLAMS Congress very hard for ITS
failure through the years. Much
more than Clinton or Bush.
:o)
The whole thing is nothing but comic relief.
No need to explain dripping sarcasm..
it's a given ;-)
To be honest.. I think a lot is going on behind the scenes with regard to the Sauds. They are slowly but surely waking up from their long slumber. Remember, they have the LARGEST population of Whabbists in their country. The Royals are infidels to the Whabbists if they side with us.. which they have. So they are in deep doo doo with the extremists.
They tried to appease the extremists for far too long. They slept with them and supported them all these years. Now they are coming after the Royals and they don't like it!
This is all playing out very interestingly. Same for Pakistan.
So.. we shall see what we shall see with regard to all this.
The commission members looked nervous and sweaty today, reaching into outer space for words that would orbit far beyond any appearance of nailing anyone specifically for wrong-doing or failing to perform.
So what was the deal that went down?
What a waste of big bucks. We didn't even get what I would guess would be the most basic recommendation for fighting terrorism -- racial/islamic profiling.
So true....It just never ends does it....
