That's a great question. Burglar was only caught this one time, how many other times were there and how many other Bubba screw-ups were covered up forever. Sandy must have one hell of a pair of shorts to carry all that paperwork.

"Do these idiots really believe that education and hand holding while singing Kumbaya will change the minds of this "loving" Islamist cult? God help us!"Yep, they think we can reverse a barbarian's mindset with dialog. I suggest they send they set up a meeting with Zarkarwi(sp) ASAP to get his views on their conclusions. They won't need to take a camera crew along, he has his own.

More on pg 128:
"On November 4,1998,the U.S. Attorneys Office for the Southern District of New York unsealed its indictment of Bin Ladin, charging him with conspiracy to attack U.S.defense installations."How does this date compare with Clinton's statement that we had "no legal justification" for taking OBL into custody???

OK. Now I think I get it. The Gorelick memo actually "required" intelligence to be shared, but it was immediately misunderstood and misapplied so that information sharing was shut down. And nobody in Reno's justice department noticed.

His intelligence czar "idea" was something Kerry knew would be in the 9-11 report - thanks to Berger and Commission informants. If he's actually trying to take credit for this one he's even dumber than I thought. Is there anyone who didn't see the "intelligence czar" idea coming from a million miles away? That's what we always do - appoint a "czar." Besides the Gorelick wall, most of the other intelligence problems we have can be directly traced to a paralyzing level of bureaucracy in all of the agencies. So how do we propose to fix it? Why, add a whole bunch of new layers of bureaucracy, of course! Ain't Beltway logic wonderful?

"These procedures were almost immediately misunderstood and misapplied." Any leader or manager who applies that excuse in the real worlds gets shown the door very very quickly. Why it is no more than a self-incriminating statement -- "I, Jane Gorelick, gave terrible orders that could not possibly be understood and gave up immediately in attemping to make them understood.:"
It is a clear statement of management failure and of total absense of leadership.

The FBI and CIA are already working to correct the things that this "Commission" is now suggesting be fixed.
I noticed they did not publicly address the biggest problem...CONGRESS. They have the regulatory oversight...and they are the ones who pushed the FBI and CIA to their current states.
How much tax money was wasted on these publicity seeking goons ...uh..I mean Commission? There fancy dinners. Their private flights. Etc.

From Rich Lowry at nro.com
MICHAEL MOORE'S PIPELINE [Rich Lowry]
Remember his conspiracy theory about the pipeline and the Afghan war? It was a Clinton-era diplomatic initiative. Page 111, picking up the story in 1998:
In Afghanistan, the State Department tried to end the civil war that had continued since the Soviets withdrawal. The South Asia bureau believed it might have a carrot for Afghanistans warring factions in a project by the Union Oil Company of California (UNOCAL) to build a pipeline across the country. While there was probably never much chance of the pipeline actually being built, the Afghan desk hoped that the prospect of shared pipeline profits might lure faction leaders to a conference table. U.S. diplomats did not favor the Taliban over the rival factions. Despite growing concerns, U.S. diplomats were willing at the time, as one official said, to give the Taliban a chance.

I'm on MSNBC, they havne't broken away, so I don't know what FOX is saying. But from what all the commissioners have said, it sure seems to me as if this Commission (whether they acknowledge it or not) are in accord with Bush's bold leadership.
