Yes it would be a mistake. It adds one more layer of red tape to the already bottomless bureaucracy and solves nothing, because 'super terrorism czar' would be just as subject to human error and bias as any other human being.

They're hyping it to protect the intelligence committee, which did NOT do it's job.

Not to mention, what if he/she were a "Manchurian Candidate"?? It's not just a new layer of beaurocratic disorganization that's problematical...I don't see how we can possibly risk vesting all that power and control in one individual.

True, and yet nevertheless the Commission wants to strengthen and increase Congressional oversight?? We're in big trouble if the Dem's regain the majority and we have folks like Leahy in charge of determining CIA policy...exactly how we got here in the first place!!
