Including PGP encrypted messages instead of just the usual blather suggests near term operational messages are being passed. You only need enough encryption to keep the information secret until exposure no longer matters. There is always the possibility that the message is completely innocuous and intended to get people stirred up.
After reading your profile and observing your post, I would be willing to bet you would be a handful for any potential terrorist!

I believe that Laura stated on the QFiles show that she was traslating the background arabic symbols and making sure the english text said what it said in Arabic.
Others wise, us "arabic illiterate" would've just taken the english subtitles as fact and it could've been saying anything in arabic and we wouldnt have known any different if Laura didnt Re-translate it.
I know I sure as hell wouldnt take what some jihaadist says his video says in arabic as gospel, I would hope everyone here wouldnt do that either. Weve been around the block enough to know better.

They are probing defenses. Testing alternative strategies for overcoming new measures, the most important being undercover air marshals. The point is not to figure out if you can dismantle a bathroom wall, put together a device in a lavatory in relay-team style, or rehearse coordinated movements designed to catch flight attendants and passengers unaware. All this can be done on the ground with no risk of exposure. Even walking the plane and getting a "lay of the land" does not have to be done so overtly and in groups. The point for them is to ID and take out the air marshals because in sufficient numbers and with a well-crafted plan there is not a good way to defend against a sudden attack.
In any game or war, those who seize the initiative have the initial advantage. This is why preemption is a necessary evil for us as a nation. But "pre-empting" one team on one plane does not solve your problem. As anecdotal reports indicate, the probing is extensive. Unless a hijacking of the plane is underway, you should not show your cards. You can arrest the suspects, but they would probably have kept one or two non-ME types hidden as passenger-observers to report back the results of the probe.
While it is a human reaction for an attendant to seek to calm a passenger as in the Jacobsen story, it is a potentially fatal mistake. You must never *ever* confirm or deny the presence of federal LEOs or their identities. Reassurance is fine.
Compromising the critical defense is not.
It sounds like things have tightened up some the past couple weeks. It is a difficult decision to know when to pull the trigger, but the air marshals did the right thing.
The terrorists are trying to discover what they need to do to force federal LEOs to reveal themselves (how outlandish and threatening must their behavior become to trigger action) so that they can then use this information in a future operation to identify and neutralize them. To give the terrorists this info is to give them the keys to the airplane.
This is not about lavatories, strange bags, signals, rehearsals, or wiring.
It is about how to ID air marshals.
And they have to keep them guessing on multiple levels.

Think of all the possibilities of who could set up Who? That is why there is no answer until you establish the chain this video followed from Source to SP. And we may only know a small piece of that Chain.
I know enough Arabic to be able to tell that the subtitles were translations of what was being said. In every sentence he spoke, there were several of the same words in the english sentence.
There were no Arabic symbold in the background.

I dont think ANYONE was set up, nor was any lieing done. I just think that Laura stumbbled upon something "unusual" on the file and she didnt know what it was she was looking at. She correctly assumed it was a code, but wrongly assumed its origin.
Thats great that you know, however, the general public doesnt and thats the service Laura provides. So that the general public knows what is said, she was making sure that what was being spoken/written on any document says what it says in the best translation possible.
I really think all this was made this huge hoopla over nothing. Peoples reputations are on the line and being shot to pieces all because of an encrypted code that I think came from the DivX program in use.

Actually Either one alone could be in on it(Technically). But I don't believe that. You made me think of another possiblity.
There is this descrepancy of why translate a video with subtitles? Well maybe Sp was looking at a different video?
She could have been looking at the same video and translating the audio verses subtitles that could be incomplete, but....
It could have been a different video...A longer video(There seems to be a descrepancy in the number of frames). There are so many possibilites that it is just pointless to make any conclusions at all...Without input from SP. I am sure she is honest, and She can shed some light on this. She is not ignoring us. She is attending to a most personal matter...I have been told. She simply is out of the loop right now...Everyone Have patience.
