Muslims say fellow Americans are lashing out

Law-enforcement officials in the U.S. say they've seen an increase in hate crimes as Muslims grapple with harassment believed to have been prompted by beheadings in Iraq, Saudi Arabia

Through all the tense moments since the Sept. 11 attacks, Samar Jarrah thought her small Islamic community in Port Charlotte, Fla., had remained at peace with its non-Muslim neighbors.

The town's Muslim doctors often treat homeless and impoverished immigrants free of charge. And Jarrah went out of her way to teach residents about Islam, sometimes giving talks two or three times a week in synagogues and churches.

But three weeks ago, a caller left a message on the mosque's answering machine at the Islamic Community of Southwest Florida, shattering the perception of harmony with the community: "You barbarians. Lucky to be alive." Then the caller warned that if any attacks occurred in the United States, he would retaliate.

Though I like your words I think things might play out a little differently. If another major attack by Islamofanatics on the homeland that kills thousands, we will probably see 3 things:

1. politicians resigning in droves because they will be held accountable,

1. the left screaming for the impeachment of President Bush, VP Cheney, the criminal indictment of SECDEF, DOJ, SECTATE, SECHSC. Lead by Sen Kennedy, Cong, Pelosi. This will last for about a month when the House and Senate pass by a wide margin a declaration of WAR, and Enact the Sedition Act. The usual suspects keep at it violating the sedition act and are taken off to cool their heels in Leavenworth Federal Prison awaiting trial.

2. non-citizen muslims needing to consider seriously returning to 'their' homeland, and

2. non-citizen muslims exit the US in droves accompanied by very large numbers of citizen muslims, and

3. an assault on PC and liberalism that will send the liberals and their PC crap into the closet for 50 years. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Politicians, liberals, major media, etc., may have forgotten the rage and anger felt on 9-11-01, but most Americans haven't forgotten. Another major attack and the rage and anger will be multiplied. The resulting retribution will be heavy for politicians, for PC liberals, and for Islamofanatics and their supporters.

Hate can be a motive, but it is not a crime, (even if the commielibs say so.)

Muslims in America have a choice and a decision they must make....

They must either quickly demonstrate they are our allies against Islamic terrorism -- or they will be targets immediatly after the next major attack in America..

This is not a threat, this is a predictable response from an angry nation.
Muslims will have to demonstrate they are with us and NOT with their "co-religious" fanatics.

It believe it will come down to a "join us, leave us or suffer the consequences"...

American Muslims ---if smart---would innoculate themselves from a coming rage if there is another attack. Loud and strong denunciation of Islamofascists is the only thing that will save them. Their silence is tantamount to a quiet endorsement.

Crank calls, graffitti, and moronic notes taped to a mailbox are the "hate crimes" the author alludes to. Color me unimpressed . . . I don't see any mosques burning. To call these incidents "hate crimes" further dilutes the definition of an already questionable phrase.

Exactly. Besides, plenty of conservatives get harrassed like that for such innocuous things like writing a pro-Bush letter to the editor.

English should be the only language used in the government's administration. Having said that, I've had different flags on my scooter or on my person for a number of different reasons. I don't know about Washington, but here where I live in NY lots of non-citizens have little American flags on their car. I have a flag for my house and that's it. I already know I'm a patriot and like the country that I live in.
