Anyone see the 4400 last night on USA Network
The 4400 TV series - USA Network

Posted on 07/12/2004 9:25:32 AM PDT by Dave S

Did anyone see the science fiction mini-series "The 4400" about 4400 individuals who were abducted by aliens over the past seventy years and then returned today as though no time had passed.

Funny but significant scene shows a black male abducted in the 50's reading Time magazine to try to get caught up on current events. He is amazed by the fact that the current Secretary of State and National Security Advisor are both black. Just prior to his abduction during the Korean War he had been beaten up by his fellow soldiers because he was dating a white woman. No mention of Bush but everyone knows who made the appointments.

I saw parts of it. It was rather interesting. I guess it's to become a series now. Gonna try to catch it next Sunday.

I saw it. Man, Louis Farrakhan looked cool up front in his shades and number nineteen headband.

I watched it.

It looks interesting; is supposed to run about 5 weeks.

One of the builders who did some work on our house a few years ago was apparently abducted by LGMs in a UFO. He didn't mention it to me, but apparently he has discussed it with other people I know. Otherwise he seems like a normal guy.

I pass on the whole UFO business. I don't know what to make of it, and there doesn't seem to be anything new.

I did and loved it! I noticed the part you speak of. I thought it was a bit pro-Bush, at least I hoped so. Would be a nice change, huh?

I saw it and remember the scene you mentioned. For some reason, maybe it's just because I'm too used to liberal bias, I got the impression that it was meant to be some kind of slur. Looking back I don't know why I should've thought that. I think it'll be a good series. I plan to watch it next Sunday.

I thought it was really rather weak in the 'story' department. I'm hoping it gets better, otherwise adios.

Yes, hopefully Bush can capture the captured-by-aliens-and-returned-forty-years-later demographic. Could make a difference in New Mexico.

"Otherwise he seems like a normal guy."

Abduction makes him somehow "abnormal"? Mind you, I don't know the truth to abduction stories, but it is widespread enough of a reported event to be possibly real.

There is a stigma to the whole issue that is unfair to the folks who often report themselves as abductees.

All that tangential stuff said, I wish I had cable to I could catch this show. Guess I'll just have to wait for the DVD's!

For those of you who watched, the guy who was Peter Coyote's second in command, what was his character like? The actor playing him was outstanding in 'Taken', IMO.

hmmmmm, I was channel surfing between the 4400 and the Laguna Seca (I think it's called Infinion raceway now) round of WSB.

WSB won out....much more compelling......

Were they then put into leadership at the DNC?

I watched last night and thought it was pretty good. He couldn't believe that the Secretary of state and National sercurity Advisor were "colored"

I thought they put a positive spin on the Homeland Security Department.

I recently saw a movie (boy, I can't remember which one, "mental pause" I guess), and anyway it showed the government bureaucracy and homeland security in a pretty negative light as heartless and uncaring.
